The Vault

First off, The Vault #1 cd that was given to Alpine attendees and the first several buyers for the VS/Vitalogy super deluxe, NEEDS to be put in goods for all members to buy.

I own it. I think it's a crime that all members don't have access to it.

Second, it's not actually Vault #1. There's 12/31/92 New York. There's the 93 Vegas show that was released on the old online archive site. DIGITALLY. PUT IT OUT ON CD!!! And all the promo live shows that have been given out over the years. Soldier Field. Dissident. Rarified and Live. The Orpheum. Etc.

Third, it's time that vault shows become part of the member exclusives. Whether it be through the fan club membership one per year with renewal, or release them through goods. Whatever. But so many of those shows are legendary, and it's time to get this going. AND DON'T EDIT THE SHOW. The Orpheum show release was BRUTAL. I get it, there was equipment malfuctions. But six tracks that were recorded fine were omitted from the cd/vinyl and given out digitally. Digitally. From this band. The irony.

I understand the band has said that, now that the anniversary is done, they're finished with looking back and want to move forward. So commission someone to mix the shows and release them. Give the net proceeds to charity like The Who do. Think of all the happy people that would reap the benefits!

  • Hi everyone, new 10c member here! I would like to see some of these come out on a regular basis, like the Grateful Dead release live shows throughout the year. The Orpheum and Drop in the Park were amazing and I just ordered the 12/31/92 from goods.

How about a live dvd from the 94 Vs tour? (Orpheum with SNL as bonus material)

They should release a 20 shows from '91-'98 in a boxset. That would be cool.

Well said OP...I would absolutely love to buy Vault 1.
And then on to Vault 2, whatever they choose it to be.
  • Jack White is a visionary. they really need to look at TMR's vault and do something similar. Obviously PJ fans go nuts over their stuff, probably moreso than Jack White fans do. Can you imagine how fucking cool it would be to have a new PJ Vault package every 3 months? or even every 6 months? For you vinyl junkies, a live boot on wax? A new dvd? an exclusive, non-crappy fan club t shirt? A new vault show on cd?

I understand that TMR's vault isn't all about Jack, but most of it is. And this band has been around twice as long as he has. They would have tonnes of goodies to lay out.

  • Would love to see a reissue of all the studio albums on vinyl too, No Code thru Avocado. There's a lot of new vinyl lovers nowadays (me) and I really don't want to spend $150-250 per record. I don't know how much longer I can wait without owning these on wax. One of these days I'm gonna have to cash out my son's college fund and buy these albums if we don't get a reissue soon.

Please reissue these albums! I guarantee no matter how many are pressed, they will all sell.
    Tread Lightly.

I agree with the OP, I could've spared the bitching, but I think he is totally right, I could use some official releases of trascendental shows from the 90's, don't care if it is vinyl, CD or boot... and I don't care about vault #1, I might get it some day, but I wonder why they haven't put all this out for sale so whoever wants to purchase can do so, they have been doing it since Y2K, they could have done a couple of shows from before
... I am not in the business of being liked anymore ...

    nice ideas ....

id buy anything they threw out to us, but im sure its pretty involved doing these things and this is a band that like to do things itself, and not outsource too much.

The Vault 1 cd would be a cool addition to the shop to prevent people having to pay $150 for it, but these limited items are all part of the collecting appeal. I mean Benny could be repressed at anytime and make a ton of cash, but it can be countered that that would ruin the original.

I do recall it being confirmed on the radio show that Vault 1 would be in the store though so its weird its never happened, maybe they will appear at the next convention?

Vault 1 was sold @ the 10club store but it was only included with the Vs/Vitalogy Box Set bundle. It went on sale for only a few hours.

oh yeah, but I think there was a general comment that it would be available on its own.

could be wrong, I don't think it really counts throwing it in as a free bonus and saying its for sale.....It was a clever ploy to sell stock of the boxset which has to be applauded in itself
