    some people have said to me
    pearl jam would still be pearl jam without jeff or matt
    i've read that on here many times
    but i say NO WAY....jeff's bass lines are one of my most favorite parts of many songs
    i always turn the bass all the way up in the car just so i can listen to jeff weave his magic

    I agree, the low end would have a different sound.

    I agree with that 100%. I love the breakdown in Save You, just Jeff n Matt kicking it.

    the very end of the studio cut of black just before it starts to fade out has a 5-10 second section where jeff is real loud (or mixed louder) that i just love. sadly this part isn't nearly as prominent in the 2009 remix.
