And now the more I think about it the chances of me posting or sending a picture of me in costume is about as close to zero as it can get. Zero chance a picture will ever be seen by anyone here. Zero. Zilch.
Just the truth of the matter. I'll explain the costume and may even post a picture of said costume...but of it being worn....nope.

Probably smart actually

The show was supposed to be at the Joint, but they moved it to the Poolside stage. Not sure how I feel about that. My flight lands first at 9am, I will try to be somewhat coherent when the rest of the crew lands at 3pm.
We are staying at the MGM in one of their new suites. For 5 guys, it seemed to be the best deal for the $$$.
We will be spending time in some sports books. Definitely some gambling, we have one guy who will likely need some restraint at the tables. Dining....planning on at least sushi and steaks, separate nights of course. And DRINKING> It doesn't matter where, club, bar, casino, etc. Our livers will probably feel like we took them out and played soccer with them by the time Tuesday rolls around. Strippers will probably come into play at some point, not sure if we're going to hit up a club, or just hire private ones. It seems to be about the same price. And anything else we can get ourselves into without going to jail.
I think the plane ride home Tuesday is going to blow. Hopefully my ass will just pass out.
That's a bummer...this tour doesn't seem to be selling well. When I saw them they closed the entire upstairs section of HOB, never seen that before. It was actually pretty cool with a smaller crowd though.
Good call on MGM - the suites there are incredible!! You may or may not hear angels singing when you check in . Speaking of, when you do check in, go downstairs from the lobby and there will be a Fat Tuesday right there. Thank me later
As for sportsbooks - The Mirage has an amazing one and Stratosphere actually has a really cool setup for football on Sundays. Other than that, there's no lack of good restaurants or bars, so you guys are going to have a blast! I would actually also recommend renting a car. When I went, we had a car for 5 days, cost $90. We would have spent that much alone in cabs to and from the airport. All the casinos have free parking and it's nice to have just in case. But if you're trying to get from one end of the strip to the other, don't take LV Blvd, take Koval which is a couple streets over.
And have a freaking awesome time!!!
Thanks for the info! Only 3 days to go!! I have a 6am flight out of MKE, not really too pumped about that, but I at least I get in early.

im going this weekend for my friend's wedding. any advice besides someone telling me to put 5k on black once i land?
Awesome! May I ask where you're staying?
As far as advice there's a shit ton of it in this thread. I usually get the tram card. The hotels look so close but they are really not. It's an illusion. Also, when you pass a drink joint called Fat Tuesdays (they're pretty much all over) stop each time and get an octane with the extra shot. Trust me on that one.

Listen to this man, he knows Vegas!! Stoked for you David...is this your first time going? Don't gamble in the ritzy places (Wynn, Bellagio, Encore, etc.) - the minimums are way too high. Unless of course you're a baller Definitely check out Fremont street too if you have time.

Unfortunately the Tram doesn't stop at the Wynn (Steve I guess didn't want the trash there ). You'll have to walk next door. If you like poker and are just casual to moderate I would definately stay away fromt eh Mirage and Bellagio. I think I've actually picked off teams there before and it's just not a fun experience to play there if you have been drinking. For the most part the people playing there are playing for their livelihood. MGM is a nice casual place to play but a few weeks ago I was there and had really no success, however I was shitbagged out of my mind. :fp: The Luxor also has a nice, very casual poker room that you can catch some nice games.
If you really want to have some fun...catch a pai gow poker table at Imperial Palace. I'm telling you you will laugh your ass off all night and have a blast. Wonderful place to play. Harrahs is fun too but a little stodgy than Imperial Palace.
I'll be there again at the end of the month and you already have me jonesing to go back. :fp:
Totally agree with DS about Pai Gow at Imperial Palace. Played there last year when I was there. Probably sat down at the table at around 2am...didn't leave until 8am Whoops!
Dammit I'm so jealous.
*Edit - also...the Wynn is an amazing place to stay. Probably the nicest one I've stayed at on the strip, enjoy!

It's a very easy game but hard to explain by typing. The house has zero advantage over your hand but how they make money is lets say you bet $5. If they win they take your $5...if you win they pay you $4.75. At any time you can turn your cards over and ask the dealer to help you and they will(there is a house way to play their hands so even if they know what you have it doesn't matter). There is no house advantage other than the pay schedule. It's pretty much just a drinking game where you can sit at a table getting free booze from the house while not losing a lot of money.
The game is you are dealt 7 cards and you need to make your best two hands...your low and high hand. Again, it sounds more complicated than it is. I have yet to see anyone take more than three or four hands to understand the game. Seriously just play it and ask the dealer for help. It's a good time!

Well you can either split the pairs or keep them in the bottom hand...but I believe house way is to split them, right DS?
Either way, every time you'll either beat the dealer, lose to the dealer, or wash. Unless some prick comes to the table to play the bank then you'll be playing against him. A great game to just get some free drinks on and kill some time and not lose money.

Yes. That's the house way. I think the house way is they split pairs of 8's and better. Might be 9's. I usually just ask if I'm not sure or too hammered of the house way to play. Sometimes I gamble a little but I usually don't stray too far from house rules.

DOn't worry about dying. A Las Vegas casino is the safest place to be if a person has a medical episode. That's the truth too.
They want people's asses up and betting!
Have a great time!!
You should probably just start drinking now.
Soo...how was the trip?! :corn:
Lucky bastard!
So I guess youre not sneaking into the luggage?
I think on your 21st we should get a group from here to go to Vegas together. We'd probably all die but it'd be worth it!
