Saw Gary play a handful of new songs on tour back in November. This was one of the ones he played that I really liked. Looking forward to catching his in-store set for the new record later this week!
Have a GREAT time at the in-store buddy!!
I'm hoping to make it to his show in Indy on March 18th. :rock_on:

Alright, finally going to stream this album at max volume while I do some housework. :rock_on:
    It's a hopeless situation...
  • He’s about to rightfully blow up.  I think this tour is your last chance to see him at smaller places.  This is about the best album to come out from anyone in the last 5 years.

Sorry. The world doesn't work the way you tell it to.

Stoked for my show in Indy in a few weeks...
I've seen him open for other bands twice,
but this will be my first headlining show!!

Nice.  You are in for a treat.   The Blues are in good hands. First saw him at Croassroads Guitar fest at the Garden in early ‘13 He played a short set just him and a kick drum one night and full band set the next.  Even with the guitar legends playing, he commanded the room. EC has been a big supporter of his from the beginning. I think he was at the Chicago Guitarfest in ‘10 too.

then saw him later that year on the rail at Terminal 5 in the City with my then 14 yo son.   GCjr’s parents were at that one. lol.

In October, he played with EC again at the Garden and played Low Down Rolling Stone from the new album and it got me super excited.

This is a phenomenal album. Love all of the different influences he incorporates into the album. You can hear it in places for brief moments. I have often felt it reminds me of some of the sound and style on Santana's Smooth when I first heard it without all the collaboration from other artists.

This review from NY Times is spot on for me.

His songwriting dips into funk, R&B, reggae, metal, arena-rock and hip-hop, and he often embeds song samples and drum-machine sounds in his mixes. Clark hasn’t tried to dwell in any purist blues past. He doesn’t hide his musical models. He harks back to foot-stomping country blues in “The Governor,” a sardonic take on the justice system, and in the lovelorn “Dirty Dishes Blues,” proving his command of blues essentials. He forges direct links from the Ramones to Chuck Berry to the Rolling Stones in “Gotta Get Into Something,” a burst of insomniac adrenaline. His falsetto vocals in “Feed the Babies” and “Pearl Cadillac” echo Curtis Mayfield and Prince, as he sings about parental responsibility and about his own gratitude to his mother. “I Got My Eyes on You” emerges from a roiling caldron of organ and guitar, like early Santana, to pledge unswerving love. And “Feelin’ like a Million,” which follows its opening lines — “Friday night and I just got paid/I’m out looking for some trouble” — toward an ill-advised fling, turbocharges a reggae beat with stabs of distorted guitar and flickers of trap high-hats.
