Hi Guys - After some help - I am desperately seeking a copy of an authentic Eddie Vedder Autograph. I want to get it as a tattoo and although I was lucky enough to mee Ed on his last solo tour he wasn't doing any autographs - this is NOT to sell it is for me personally and will not be used for any commercial purpose except to have inked.

Anybody who has a genuine autograph that is willing to share please PM me. I would be willing to swap something from my collection for this so contact me!

Thanks
EddieVed4Prez!

  • why not just have someone scan a copy and send it to you, if you just need it for a tattoo stencil?
-one thing to remember, always have a good time, all the time
  • Yeah I'm just after a scanned copy but I want an authentic signature. Some out there are a bit dodgy and I'm hoping to get an authentic copy :D

You may want to check out the evolution of his autograph. He seems to change it every couple years. Find one you like and ask someone to scan it and email it for you. That's probably the best way to get one. Few would be willing to give up their authentic EV autographs, IMO.

I can get one over to you no problems.....

I have several, all legit, and several pictures of the ones sold recently in the charity auctions.

The one on my tambourine is my favourite I have though.

You could also ask Arq, he has pretty much every variance nailed

my favorite was when someone was trying to ebay something and they talked about Ed's "angry" autograph

why would you want Ed's autograph as a tatt?

have you ever thought about what he would think of it?

    just curious

I saw a Chicago Bears fan that did this- He would get the player to actually sign his body with a permanent marker- then go straight to the tattoo parlor, and have it inked.

That would be much cooler than getting an autograph from elsewhere. Even better than that would be getting a doodle from EV on the spot then having that tatted.

oh i've heard of it done... actually i know a gal who had McCready sign her leg and it's now a tatt

i just thought ed would be different... considering that he probably wouldn't think much of it?

BUT!! it's your body ... your ink... you obviously should do what means something to you

I got a tatt of Maynard. And my buddy and I met him. My buddy insisted I show him, I didn't want to. He was less than thrilled. I think his exact words were "wow. I gotta go do my nails now"
    Just, not enough.
    I need more.
    Nothing seems to satisfy.
I said, I dont want it.
    I just need it.

This reminds me of those girls who have celebrities sign their chest. I don't know if i'd want someone's signature on my body, especially as a tattoo. But that's the beauty of life - you can do as you see fit and find enjoyment.

If you're going to go through with this, not just go for the "EV" that you see on the tour lighters? Think long how this will look when you're old and shrivled. A signature (or any thin-lined tat) will look like a squiggly underscored line. Don't believe me? Ask an old war vet to see some of their ink.
  • Hi Afghan - I guess the same could be said for any tattoo anywhere on anyones body -it is an artform and a form of expression. I already have 3 PJ tattoos and this last one is to be the crowning glory - I would love nothing better than to be able to just get Ed's autograph - I was lucky enough to meet him after one of his solo shows in Australia last year but was not signing ANY autographs or letting any pics to be taken which I totally respect as I was so thrilled to just meet the great man finally after 20 years of adoration - it was without doubt the BEST night of my life - this is one of the main reasons I want this tattoo as my last as a tribute to King Ed! ;)

That sounds vaguely familiar, might have been mentioned somewhere around these parts before.

Funny enough, there's something to be said for Ed's signatures when he truly takes his time vs. when he's annoyed/rushed. Of the various signatures I've obtained from him, when he was generous enough to not only sign but also personalize he took his time and the entire thing turned out beautifully. On the other hand when he signed while rushed the tail end of his signature was just a tad sloppy. For a perfectionist, it makes a world of difference.

    ;)
