I would have no problem with them taking years off, and I have no problem seeing them again this year. I just hope that they and their families are healthy and happy, but I'm sure they are better judges of that than me. For me to define what is healthy and happy to them would be patronizing.
On a thread a long long time ago in 2006 someone referenced that they are a "touring band." That is what they do. Maybe this new tour so soon is really a reflection of that type of lifestyle.

I understand they didn't play the south. We ALL know, and i'm sure they do, stop harping on it. We all know they didn't do a 'FULL' UK tour, jesus, they played 23 shows in Europe, not to mention the Astoria warmup. They played 25 in '00, and did what, 3 shows in England?
Give the boys a year off, and stop demanding they play Alpine Valley, Scotland, South America, even Australia again, or the friggin' south. It's gonna happen, just give them some time.
I hope they don't play anywhere. I hope all the festival rumors are false.
I hope they take 12 months off and don't do shit, and make us all wait. Because if anyone deserves anything, they deserve that.

I'm not even from the same fucking continent yet I agree (that it wasn't nice...but then I'm a southerner too..from France...they tend to treat us in a funny way too those bloody Northeners!)
plus I think the southern cuisine (cajun for example, or mexican) is far healthier than your normal yank staple (I won't count texans in that obviously..except if they're from Austin..which I heard is a nice normal place )... as for culture...outside of NY, Boston and maybe the NW...:rolleyes:..and even then
though on a selfish note, I'd rather they don't play the south this year (since they're coming back to Europe), and do it next year instead (since they won't come back here)...always wanted to visit New Orleans
My whole thing is just that the guys deserve a rest, and to spend time w/their families. If they're happy, and have spent enough time w/them, then fine, my hat is off to 'em.
I just think some of the whining is a little excessive. When you get Canadians and Australians bitching (and yes, i'm an aussie) that Pearl Jam needs to come back, when both countries have had 2 of the best tours in the last 14-15 months... c'mon.. really?
It's like some people think that the band needs to adhere to every need to keep it's fan base happy when that's not the case.

I agree. Would I love to see Pearl Jam many times throughout a 24-month period? Fuck yes. Who wouldn't. But your god damned whining and complaining is annoying.
