    Question?

Has there ever been a questionable character signing that has paid off?  Michael Vic, Nope.  Richard Incognito, nuh uh.  Terrell Owens(later Owens) Close but no cigar.
    Ndomukang Su maybe?
Vick worked out okay for the Eagles for a couple years. The team was just in decline overall at that point. Plus I think that was a completely different situation than Watson as Vick paid his debt to society and served hard time at one of the toughest prison's in the country. Watson's skating through this thing with no repercussion.
He also didn't commit a crime.  So that's kind of weird that you give Vick a pass because he was tried, convicted and served, but because Watson didn't commit a crime, he is guiltier.

mruss.....you wouldn't feel differently about this if the guy wasn't just traded to your team, would you?
    Absolutely.  I'd hate the fucker.

    What's your point?
You think he's a top 5 QB and doesn't deserve to lose his livelihood, but you would hate the fucker on your team.

    Got it.
No, I would hate the fucker if he wasn't on my team.

    It's simple sports math.
Nevermind... I'm dumb, didn't realize you were a Cleveland guy & didn't see the double negative.

    Good luck with him.

Ray Lewis signed three contracts after the murder charge. Did he do okay?
    He didn't change teams...

Well you didn't make that a condition.  Regardless, a murder charge is questionable character.

I thought that was evident when no one dismissed Rothlesberger, but yes, that is my only condition that would need be said.

Regardless if legal/ illegal…. This isn’t face of your franchise behavior…. Not even for the Cleveland shit stains
And the saddest part is they brought him in! AND gave him the biggest contract ever! I mean, say what you want about the Steelers and Roethlisberger, but at least by time he was accused of similar crimes, he had already won two Super Bowls with the Steelers and thus, was part of the Steelers' "family." So his misbehavior from the Steelers' perspective is like a family member who goes off the deep end. You don't just shun them, you try to help and rehabilitate them.

The Browns on the other hand? They come off like a hopeless woman that is so desperate for a husband, that she'd marry someone even if she knew he had a history of beating his ex-wife. And didn't Watson reject them at first and then they flew down to meet him and threw all this money at him? How pathetic.

Yes, because until now, football wasn't all about winning.  The Browns are really changing the game here.

Y'all just mad because he's a top 5 qb.  The reality is that an elite qb who is young never becomes available.  Ever.  Browns are trying to win at any cost.  It might blow up in their face, like a Watson massage, or it may pay off.
He's not though, Rodgers Allen Mahomes Brady and Dak or Lamar Jackson (maybe) which makes the Brownies falling all over themselves for this loser even LAMER.

Dak and Lamar are in no way better than Watson.  Lamar can't even throw the ball to a wide receiver.  Second, Watson is on the upswing of his career (assuming the year off doesn't kill him).  Brady and Rodgers are wrapping it up.

Watson is definitely a talented QB, no doubt about that. Houston had a shot to make it to the SB before they decided to blow the whole team up once they traded Hopkins. That being said, I am glad that Watson is gone. These allegations are hard to ignore and I imagine that there is some truth to them.

Julie: I like Anna Quindlen's column. And Safire. Don't you like Safire?
    George: Oh, Safire. [chuckles]
Julie: Although at times, he can be rather pedantic.
George: He can be pedantic. He can be pedantic.
Julie: And Bob Herbert's great. He's with the Daily News.
George: Yes. Yes. You know what's interesting. The quarterback for the Atlanta Falcons is Bobby Hebert. No "r" which I find fascinating. You know, it's Herbert h-e-r-b-e-r-t, Hebert h-e-b-e-r-t. "Hebert", it's a fun name to pronounce. Try and say it Hebert. Go ahead, take a shot.

He'll be hurt financially and that lawyer will have a wonderful payday.  Investing in aligning stories will pay off to the tune of 33%.
