Good god, there’s a “US Sun?” Karen’s lucky he wasn’t armed, stood his ground in fear of his life. Yea, right.

It's funny because it was a zoo back in the day.  I grew up in Cleveland Stadium and it was a rough place, especially when teh Steelers came.  Because it would be steel workers vs the auto workers in the stands.  Total chaos.  But with the advent of PSAs and the big investments, things seemed to change.  But I agree, it's getting worse now.  Or... maybe because we have video it seems worse?

No sure.  I went to a few games a year as a kid and I never saw any huge brawls.
I was involved in a few scraps in the tailgate area when in my early 20s but it still feels different when I go to games now or see these videos.
Agree wholeheartedly that if I have my way I'm sitting in club / suite levels or generally staying home.
I know my wife likes to sit in lower bowl, closer to the field.  NFW I am sitting upper tank, these days, for a normal game.

Folks....imagine if there had been smart phones and social media 20, 30, 40+ years ago. As someone who had season tickets in Veterans Stadium and now at Lincoln Financial I can tell you that things actually seem a lot more tame than they did 20 years ago. Anecdotal, of course--but my seats are and were in the rowdiest sections of both places.

You just happen to hear and see every single incident whereas before you didn't hear a peep unless it made the local news.

Im in the same boat.  I have Bills seasons in the 'worst' part of the stadium.  It has improved so much over the past 15 years.

Fights still happen occasionally, but it is rarely more than a couple guys throwing a couple punches before getting swarmed by County Sheriffs and Security.

They implemented a lot of stuff over the past 2 decades including stopping visibly drunk people from entering, making it virtually impossible to sneak liquor in, banning/preventing any smoking, setting up a text line to report assholes, and a larger police presence.

Yeah I agree with all of this. There is way more security in the Linc compared to the Vet. The Vet was like the wild west.

    Which stadium?
    Where I grew up going?
    Sullivan/Foxboro.
We sat in the "expensive" seats, which just meant your metal bleacher seat was at 50 yard line a little bit up from the field, lol.
Now I go wherever....all over.  Philly more often then other NFL but for college I've been all over the country.
I defer to Juggs and MayDay as constant fans sitting in "rowdy" sections of same stadiums over the years, though.
Perhaps I only see the rowdy pushing into the posh.

Yeah, you're the tea and crumpet football crowd.  Go to a UVA game.  They all wear sweaters and khakis to the games.  So annoying.

We have tickets to the see 49ers in Cincinnati in December. The only times I have seen the 49ers away from the Bay Area has been in St Louis, where the Rams fans were apathetic at best. I am curious how the Bengals fans are towards visiting teams fans. Hopefully they have gotten over the 2 Super Bowl losses.

I've been to a game at Tiger Stadium - I've seen what rowdy tailgating and college football craziness can be.  Going to USC our games were mostly tame, even when we were the best team.
This is what happens when there are other things in life to get excited about. .   Far less need to scream at opposing fans or beat the shit out of others

Cam refused to confirm if he's been vaccinated, but based on a recent incident where he missed several days due to a 'misunderstanding' regarding COVID protocol, it's widely believed that he hasn't.

I'll do this in Jeopardy format....

A: This team's owner "really wants" Deshaun Watson.

Q: Who are the Miami Dolphins....of course.

Fuck Watson. Even before all the allegations, I didn't care for this guy trying to force his way off of the Texans (after JUST signing a contract with them). And now, with 20 or so alleged victims? Fuck no. Tua might turn out to be a bust, but I'll sink with him before I ride with Watson. Hell, at least Tua will be eligible to play. Watson may not be.

Cam really has not been himself.  That is a shame because he was a hell of a player.
  • All those hits he took....both as a runner and also when the refs had their stupid view of what roughing the passer was on Cam Newton was and what it was on everyone else.  You have to think those played a big role in shrinking his career.

  • There's talk that his vax status cost him his job, but I'm not buying it. Belichick said yesterday that had nothing to do with Cam being released. Now, of course Belichick WOULD say that either way, but I'm inclined to believe him. Cam is washed. I don't know what Belichick saw in him in the first place, but as a former league MVP, with no one else really available, I understand why they gave him a shot. But he failed. Smart move to move on to the rookie.
