NFL needs to knock off the bullshit with what is and isn't a catch. It's getting ridiculous...
Yup
Remember Dez and Julio and Megatron getting screwed with the goofy interpretation of what a catch is?
In slow motion... even the most subtle of movements promote doubt.
It doesn't matter. If Sean Davis catches Brady's flutterball (2nd of the game) that was gift wrapped for him... they win. To boot... Davis got his backside kicked by Gronk in the subsequent plays. He can't be feeling very good about himself right now. That was a horrible performance.
Serial Pats hater here, but that wasn’t a catch. At this point everybody knows you have to keep control all the way to the ground and he didnt.
Bullshit. It's a stupid fucking rule. In any football game in the world except the one you need to slow down to 1/7499273 of a second on replay it's a catch. A catch is a catch and that was a catch. Fuck outta here
Didn’t have to slow anything down to see the ball move from his grasp. I seen it the first time they showed the correct angle.
He was in that gray area of making a football move or not and that call is overturned 100% of the time. Don’t have an issue with he call. If I was a Steelers fan(and I basically was this game) I’d be cussing the player, not the refs.

Fuck outta here again. That's a catch. A catch in every game anywhere anytime.
The Seth Roberts confirmed catch by instant replay was less of a catch than the Pitt reversed catch.
This is definitely an issue.
After the Pats win the SB expect the owners to pressure the rules committee to change the rule for next season. And when the Pats return to defend their championship expect the owners to complain and grouse about how unfair the rules are and demand further changes. I look forward to a Tom Brady versus Jimmy Garopolo SB.

What the hell are you even talking about??? The catch rule is complete nonsense and needs to be changed...it really doesn't have anything to do with the patriots.
We have to be OK with the ref's officiating to the rules...
that being said, it has not been really clear for years (megatron, remember that one?!) what a catch is and isnt. Silly of the NFL to not be able to clearly outline this. That was a great frigging game yesterday. They will play again in a few weeks.

It was clearly incomplete. The catch rule isn't nonsense and doesn't need to be changed. And that play cost me a shot at $1,000 cause a Roethlisberger TD there would have won me my fantasy football playoff game. I blame Jessie James for fucking up, not the rule. It was obviously incomplete and it was James' fault it was.

If that one wasn’t a catch, then I don’t understand how the one at the end of the Packer’s game WAS a catch. Especially considering that it’s supposed to be the same people making these decisions now, right?

It has been very clear that you need to complete the catch all the way to the ground. Ball hits the ground, it is an incomplete pass. This isn't the 1970s anymore. Get with the times people.
This week was another prime example of the GOAT doing what he's done for 17 years, and the others melting with the game on the line. Did anybody see Eli Manning throw the ball out of the back of the endzone, on 4th down, on the last play, not even giving his receiver a chance.
You know exactly what is going to happen. Why do we even watch!

Sure, blame it on the rule and not Rapelsburger spiking the ball, kicking a field goal and taking it to overtime where the odds favor the home team, particularly one with a kicker who’s been money of late. But oh yea, it’s the stinking rule. Why is Mike Tomlin angry all the time?
I didn't mind the decision by Ben. It was his execution that was the shits. He wasn't the only Steeler to crap his pants though.
The officials made the right call the way the rule reads... it's just a shitty rule is what people are saying.
I didn't really care who won that game... I just didn't want Brady's best pal, Trump, gloating like he probably is today around the WH. Him and Tom are probably texting right now. Actually... that's a good thing: if he's texting his best friend... then he's not tweeting! I change my mind- I wanted the Pats. Good rule!

Great game. Betting on the Pats after a loss is a time honored tradition of mine.
