If Belichick is willing to give up Garappolo for a draft pick with a soon to be 40 year old QB on the roster, that pretty much tells you his value.

  • Don't try to figure out Bill's roster or draft moves. And Garroppolo went 3-1 in Tom's absence with one of those wins against the Cards on the road.

True. And they missed the playoffs, playing in the soft AFC East.

Tony Mandarich would go 3-1 in that system with that support.

The 7-8-1 Cards game was not a statement game. Those Cards started out 1-3 with losses to Buffalo and the Rams to start the season along with the Pats loss. The 49ers as horrible as they were beat the Rams twice. Find a better example of why this guy is worth the 12th pick in the draft.

Yeah, but the 8-8 Chargers made the playoffs because of the dumb divisional winner rules. There should be an exception that states you must have at least have winning record in order to advance over a team that has three more wins then you do.
  • In non pats news the Cards may also be royally fucked. It looks like Palmer is retiring. He removed his kids from their school in AZ. He has been non committal on coming back. The people here are freaking a little as their run may have ended on that shitty 7-8-1 season.

^^^ Palmer was never taking that team back to the SB.

it's a shame, cuz besides the AFC East, the cards are in the softest division in football.

    Romo?
  • Talk on the radio here is that they want Glennon as a bridge QB and will draft one early this year as a long term answer. They are not in good shape cap wise and couldn't afford Romo unless the Cowboys cut him and they get him cheap. Palmer retiring would free up cap space but the feeling is they would use it to resign Jefferson/Campbell and go with a cheaper option at QB. Their run is coming to a close soon anyways. Fitz maybe has one year left, Arians has health issues (and is in his late 60's) and the last couple drafts were mostly busts.

AZ was going to pay Palmer close to $17M next year so he can fit in the cap

    Ha! Touche!

My point was that people point to Cassel going 11-5 as some knock against Brady and that anybody schmo can QB the Pats. Cassel lost 5 more games than Brady did. Not exactly the same.
