Lord, bestow your goodness and guidance upon our man child, Amish, civil war general, Andrew Motherfucking Luck. Forgive our sins for wishing for Saint Manning to suffer a playoff loss.

    Amen.

Russell Wilson is lucky he plays for the Seahawks

He's a pretty damn good quarterback

He's not bad. But he doesn't have to do much.

Completes 64% of his passes, 3,500 yards passing, 20 tds and only 7 ints, 95% rating...plus over 800 yards rushing. Are we talking about the same guy?

...imagine if he had a wideout half as talented as Odell Beckham

good running game and great defense. Not saying he's bad. But take those away will he be as good?

Lots of teams over the years have had good running games and defenses and haven't won shit. I used to have to make the same argument for Roethlisberger when people would say "Derrr he just manages the game". The Steelers went 23 years having a good running game and defense and didn't win shit. They draft Ben, they win two Super Bowls. Wilson's similar. If you put him on the Dolphins does he have the same success that he's had? Of course not. But do the Seahawks win the Super Bowl last year with Tannehill? No. Wilson's perfect for that team like Ben was/is for the Steelers. Plus, Wilson carried my fantasy team to another championship this year so you can't convince me that he doesn't put up numbers. Rushing yards are stats too. Especially when lots of his rushes are by design. And the threat of him running on read option plays opens up lanes for Lynch (also a member of my championship fantasy team).

I dunno, I just always hate the "Well if this guy was on THAT team" argument. He's on the team he's on. He wouldn't be as good without them but they wouldn't be as good without him.

  • No matter who wins today, the championship match ups are going to be real interesting. Some quality football yesterday. Looking for more of the same today

I've been on a big Back To The Future kick and was trying to find your "Don't Need A Credit Card To Ride This Train" thread to bump it but I can't find it.

No way Dean Blandino was going to uphold that call. Not after last week.

    Yup.

What goes around comes around. Would have been funny if they threw a flag on Dez for arguing the call with his helmet off too.

What a fuckig game though. This is great

I'm still unsure the ball hit the ground. It came loose for sure but where was his arm? In real time it looked it was under the ball. Not sure any angle was conclusive.

Stop what? He didn't complete the catch. Ask Calvin Johnson about that.

caught it, took two steps, fell to the ground...a catch
  • Last-12-ExitLast-12-Exit Posts: 8,661
The Juggler and I finally agree on something. Dallas shouldn't even have been playing in this game. So you can't complain on a good call by the refs.
  • JimmyVJimmyV Posts: 19,163
I'm sure we will hear about karma a ton in the days ahead, but that misses the point. The PI/no PI situation was an example of bad, terrible, embarrassing officiating. This was something else. Dean Blandino was hammered all week for the party bus episode. There was NO WAY he was going to rule in favor of Dallas on a close play at the end of this game. No way. He was compromised by the controversy.

    Boom. Catch

The nfl sucks. Need to get the refs in order. Ruining the playoffs
  • Last-12-ExitLast-12-Exit Posts: 8,661
Mike Ferrara said immediately after the play it should be over turned. The ball hits the ground as he's falling. The ground can cause an incomplete pass. It's absolutely a good call.
  • According to the rulebook
According to the definition of a catch

The refs made the right call.
