If you were at 04 Grand Rapids you heard Millworker and the others are classic Ed staples from presets and other solo events. I know most because I am a relentless collector of shows.

I did everything you just said, except I'm a ball scratcher...
" Jump from a cliff to fly, not to fall..."
  • having just seen the setlist,
it was more of a "meh." type experience for me.

reinforces the reality that the band is much more than just ole eddie.
    ;)

really? I love the full band as much as anybody .... but that setlist made me jizz my pants.

I guess some of my favorite moments are those ed solo pre-set songs ... this sounds like a whole night full off them. Again, pants full of jizz.

I guess some of my favorite moments are those ed solo pre-set songs ... this sounds like a whole night full off them. Again, pants full of jizz.

I will highlight the songs that could possibly make me jizz:
    Walking the Cow
    Around the Bend
    I Am Mine
    Dead Man
    MOTH
    Guaranteed
    No Ceiling
    Far Behind
    Rise
    Millworker
    Goodbye
    Brokenhearted
    You're True
    Driftin
    Hide Your Love Away
    Picture In A Frame
    Trouble
    I Won't Back Down
    Forever Young

    Encore 1
    Society
    Growing Up
    No More
    Porch

    Encore 2
    Hard Sun

Now i will highlight the songs i could do with out:
    Walking the Cow
    Around the Bend
    I Am Mine
    Dead Man
    MOTH
    Guaranteed
    No Ceiling
    Far Behind
    Rise
    Millworker
    Goodbye
    Brokenhearted
    You're True
    Driftin
    Hide Your Love Away
    Picture In A Frame

    I Won't Back Down
    Forever Young

    Encore 1
    Society
    Growing Up
    No More
    Porch

    Encore 2
    Hard Sun

Anything not so far highlighted, i wouldn't mind hearing,
but would definately not consider jizzing over either.

So basicaly, its a bunch of stuff that ed plays pre-set anyhow, that i want to hear. And honestly "Trouble" and "Picture in a Frame" are the only ones that really make me go "ooh ahh"

Sorry. I'm not taking away from the experience of others.
    Its just not for me.
Thats why i didn't get tickets.

I think the only two songs I havent heard are "Trouble" and "Forever Young".

Assuming that "Forever young" is not the Rod Stewart song.

If the notion of catching Ed Solo in a Lecture Hall atmosphere for an acoustic show doesnt make you feel all fuzzy inside, look up "fan" in the good ol' Websters...

I am in SHOCK that there is not more "HOLY SHIT!!! I CANT BELIEVE IT" talk about this tour. I think it is a testament to how cool EV really is. Cool like Don Johnson...Cool Like Michael Knight...Clint Eastwood...Arthur Fonzarelli Cool...Well, you get it, Damn!

Airfare for 2 from Philly to San Jose and back again- $440, Tickets for 2 for Santa Cruz Show- $160, Odds and Ends Expenses for the weekend, $250, EV at a 2,000 capacity gymnasium- Priceless.

Where did you guys find the SetList?
  • EvilRabbitEvilRabbit Posts: 286
Some of you guys dissing certain songs in the setlist are simply nuts.

Check out the Royce Hall boots from 2003 (i think). Some of those tracks (e.g. Brokenhearted and You're True) are hauntingly beautiful.

Anyone who only loves TEN, do me a favor and skip these solo shows. You won't appreciate them.

IMO that setlist is kickass... ev is the man...walking the cow is a great song, good opener, keeps it light as to let eddie work his way into the more "sentimental" (didn't want to say heavy) songs. And to close with Hard Sun, Magnifique.

    hahaha

Dead Man is quite possibly, IMHO, the "worst" song PJ has ever recorded.

I Am Mine is a huge "MEH!" for me.
It isn't that the song sucks, it's just got such a rigid structure, it makes me fall asleep. I appreciate what it is getting at on a lyrical level, but musicaly, i don't know ... to say it was my least favorite on Riot Act is probably an understatement. Add to that, i feel it was overplayed, and why would i want to hear it?

Hide Your Love Away is a great song. His harmonica "flub" followed by the crowd response at State College '03 was probably the highlight of the show for me. That being said, i'm tired of hearing it, and would much prefer either another Beatles tune, or another song entirely.

    Again,
this is why i made no effort to attend these shows.
He is playing what i expected he would play,
and it just isn't my cup of tea.
    :D
