I have the opportunity to purchase a guitar signed by all 5 members of the band. Obviously, it isnt cheap but I wanted to gauge where you all think the value may be so that I am not geting ripped off. It DOES have a COA. Thanks for the help....

  • No idea as to value...

But be cautious of COAs...probably 75% of items that come with a COA are fake. Stick with the reputable dealers and ones that are UACC registered. Even PSA/DNA can be fooled into issuing a COA for an item that isn't authentic.

At the end of the day it's a matter of trust, how well u know the seller...

edit: and of course, if you require help, post pics here, the members of this forum can be very helpful in this matter. and also, theres the possibility of maybe evening contacting the mods of these forums for their insight.

i wouldn't buy it. what these autograph companies do is bring a pickguard around to get it signed and slap it on a shit guitar and try to get big bucks for it.

you are right. unless it is a guitar that was used by PJ I find this kind of packaging to hold no value.

THAT LOOKS FAKE, similar to a pick guard I purchased from an online company that was having a "sale" that was perpetual. They also provided a COA and that one looks exactly like the one they sent me - I really fell for it hook line and sinker.

I am now out XXX dollars and have a POS Guitar Pick Guard.

Specifically it appears the Eddie Vedder is fake from what I can see in the pic. I would not purchase it.

Good luck and sorry to rain on your parade, I am sure you are excited.

As an FYI you should expect to pay in the low to mid thousands for an item like this.

  • COAs are for dopes....signed and produced by dopes, too...their signatures are woefully phony...run, run from this steaming pile of evil!

I am not an expert, but that EV signature looks dodgy... I know he has changed his autograph, but that is definitely not one of his recent ones. So maybe ask the seller how long ago it was signed... if they answer last year then you know they're full of shit.

    But stay clear... I'd say

    Good choice!

I think the best signed PJ item to obtain is one where you witness the signing. Much more value to that in my opinion.

That was my first thought. Glad the OP decided not to go through with the purchase. The guitar looked a little dodgy.

    Good decision,

theres plenty out there if you look carefully, and plenty of real ones. You dont have to pay crazy.

Is it definitely a guitar you are looking for? definitely full band? or a poster perhaps?

Anything really....I would love something signed by the entire band. I am going to be getting a few pictures of EV signed in the next week and I will post pictures of them once I receive them. Thanks and any ideas?

The PJ "signatures" in question are absolute fakes.
