Just another cool (lame) youth pastor saying:

"yey Jesus  booo religion  ! I hate religion, I just go to church, read the bible and believe in Jesus, but I hate religion, i don't know the meaning of the word religion but all I know is I hate it"

    He is like

"I hate Dihydrogen monoxide but I love water!
"The good thing about science is that it's true whether or not you believe in it"
    Neil deGrasse Tyson

    Why not (V) (°,,,,°) (V) ?

Thanx for filling in the blanks, my friend.
Since it ISN'T a new Rebecca Black music video... I think I'll pass on the original link.

  • At the end he fucks up and says that "religion is man looking for god... Christianity is god talking to people" or some bull shit.

Christians are getting desperate. The old people are dying off and the young people aren't buying their crap anymore.

Maybe a bit harsh. I don't have problems with people's faith... be it Christianity, Islam, Judaism, etc... when it is applied to their personal lives. Problems crop up when they try to impose their belief systems on others... be it Christianity, Islam or Judaism.
I didn't see the video.. is he one of those, 'Rex-Kwon-Do' type of preachers?

christian churches are closing in droves. nun houses are running on empty, unable to find new recruits.

All religions have been imposing their belief systems on us since we were born. For instance, on certain holidays I can't go to a lounge or restaurant and have a couple glasses of wine. I am forced to consume the same amount of food as I drink. (dollar value)

It's just a small example but still annoying. It's like fuck off, I don't believe in your fairytales and if I just want to have a drink or serve one to like minded individuals then that's what I should be able to do.

I clicked on the link and got a warning that read:

    "BE CAREFUL!"

I always head such warnings and stopped right then and there. What's that about?

My favorite words about Jesus are these from REM's "New Test Leper":

    "I can't say that I love Jesus
That would be a hollow claim
    He did make some observations
    And I'm quoting them today
'Judge not lest ye be judged'
    What a beautiful refrain
    The studio audience disagrees
Have his lambs all gone astray?

    Call me a leper"

    And especially these from Nirvana:

"Jesus don't want me for a sunbeam. 'Cause sunbeams are not made like me.
Don't expect me to cry for all the reasons you had to die. Don't ever ask your
    love of me.

    Don't expect me to cry.
    Don't expect me to lie.
Don't expect me to die for thee."

And though not a direct reference to Jesus, this from MITS:

"God is nowhere,.. to be found conveniently"

There's an irony in all these words that makes them far more spiritual for me than anything I heard or learned in my church going years. (This is an honest statement- not meant to disparage or refute anything anyone else has said or believes. It really is how I feel.)

I dont know what town or area you live in, but in my area Churches are thriving! Maybe in the USA as a whole it MAY be decreasing, HOWEVER worldwide....Christianity is the fastest growing religion growing at %8 per year.....so globally its growing just fine! Sorry bud! Hollywood may have hurt the growth here in USA!

Mormons, Muslims, xtians, Jehovah witnesses, etc etc, all claim the same thing... If you were living in the middle east you would say with the same confidence:

"HOWEVER worldwide... Islam is the fastest growing religion growing at %8 per year..."

Christianity is NOT the fastest growing religion. There are many, many reports and studies that actually show Islam (Muslim) being the fastest growing religion.

I would love to learn more about this religion and the Jewish faith too.

Hopefully some here may post some religious diversity
knowledge /experience of their faith perhaps suggested reading etc.

I for one am fascinated in all who know God.

My brother in law is Hindu , I love what I have learned from him.
He is the gentlest soul I know :D

It is such pet peeve of mine when people make statements when they have very little to no clue of what they are talking about. For every argument and link you can provide backing up your statements, I can provide one disproving them. (For the record, I am not even an atheist.)

Mine was a joke. I have no factual evidence to support my statement. The obesity rate, mainstream culture (movies, TV, celebrity worship), the political discourse in this country, the inability for humans to progress beyond the ego (stubbornness, pettiness, narrow-mindedness), a world where uneducated opinions are more important than knowledge and facts, the GOP field, the dismissal of science in favor of myth and fairy tale
all these things are surely coincidence and can't possibly be linked to a decline in the collective IQ of American and human society.

Sound like a nice thought but all religions are mutually exclusive, every god what to get rid of the other violently, just keep following the golden rule "do unto others"

 you know I'm loving that! :D

I am fascinated in the good parts of each religion, not the hate, conquer and bias.
And in the history behind each.

mine was a joke too or my weak attempt at sarcasm which I am not very good at
  • What bugs me the most about it is that they try to present it like its the anti-establishment personal thing.

But it's just more bullshit marketing designed as a desperate attempt to get teenagers to go back to church. I know this makes older people feel good but I'm not sure teenagers are going to be swayed by this pile of crap.

If you clicked the link I posted in post two, it's actually a guy ripping the whole tho apart and exposing it for the total sham that it is.

What was that, like a 2 year ban??

If the only thing you're here to do is insult Christians at every opportunity, I have a feeling your stay will be a short one...

    Have a nice day, tho.
