location of your flatscreen tv

I'm not talking about little ones.
My question is where to you put your largest tv in your house (apartments are not part of this.) I keep telling my husband that other people do not have a tv in their little living room. It almost seems like people I know have 2 LR's because they have a "family room with the tv." If you have a house, do you keep your tv in your LR especially if the room is not very large? We don't have a "family room." Where most people would put furniture in the lower level, we have lots of exercise equipment.

The family room has a 27" CRT tv that I'm hoping the kids break so we can get a new TV there.
Our "living room" is a toy box

(I dont' have a second living room)
do you have a tv? some people don't. I think I could live without one. You can watch stuff online.
Family Room - 30" in an armoire (so wife can hide it during parties)
Basement - Projection Screen (my room  )
Our Bedroom - 65"
I have a magnavox old fashioned tv where we work out downstairs and it is probably older than some of the pj fans here. it still works.
good luck on wishing for it to be broken
bedroom: 32" LCD...
If you search around online, there is a chart most of the TV manufacturer's/best buy put out that recommends the proper screen size based on how far away you sit from the TV. It's pretty good in my experience...
One of my buddies had a 65" TV he bought just before he moved out of his apartment and in with his girlfriend... he was sitting about 5 ft away from the 65" in the apt and it was so overwhelming it almost made you sick... watching live at slain castle on it was too much
55" (same TV as above) - Basement

in the basement we have a 50" 3D Plasma just on a small stand. The room down there is actually smaller than the living room.

I thought that too but changed my mind ... loving PJ on the big screen!
and surround sound OMG!!
like football on it too
ours is in our family room
our living room so small it is a study/slash office
being in the South we have no real basement... I do miss the rec room of the north
42 inch in my living room hanging on the wall
Bedroom - 42"
Basement - 60"
I didn't think so either but a 55" tv in a 12 x 12 room looks ridiculous, imo.
As far as size, you would be surprised at what the recommended viewing distance is, even for hugeass flatscreens - i forget the exact formula, but it's closer than you think. Did an article on home entertainment for my newspaper and I was shocked.
Bedroom 21inch lcd
No family room here
42" in kitchen (our main hangout space - our den/family room has an old TV in it, it's a funky space for a big TV, we'd need to remodel the room)
I envy all of you people with basements.
Can't argue there. I'm sure you wouldn't mind if he were on your lap
Living Room #2: 55" RCA HDTV
Off today cleaned house getting the children ready for back to school tomorrow. I took the time to count all the fricking tv's in our house......12 I think with 2 in the shed.
I ready to dump the ALL

If you're ready to dump them, how about Self titled vinyl for the 70" 3D? Could settle for the 55" if you throw in a Mike bobblehead
