I'm not talking about little ones.

My question is where to you put your largest tv in your house (apartments are not part of this.) I keep telling my husband that other people do not have a tv in their little living room. It almost seems like people I know have 2 LR's because they have a "family room with the tv." If you have a house, do you keep your tv in your LR especially if the room is not very large? We don't have a "family room." Where most people would put furniture in the lower level, we have lots of exercise equipment.

    In my room, the basement.

The family room has a 27" CRT tv that I'm hoping the kids break so we can get a new TV there.

Our "living room" is a toy box

We've got ours in the basement. We actually have 2 tvs set up right next to each other so we can watch more than one football game at a time. In our frontroom there's just a little tv but I only use that for my workout dvds and that's it. Some of our friends give us a lot of heat for not having the TVs set up in there, but we've got nice furniture and the last thing I want is for all my crazy friends to spill beer all over them

I have a magnavox old fashioned tv where we work out downstairs and it is probably older than some of the pj fans here. it still works.

good luck on wishing for it to be broken :D

living room: 46" LED (but we just bought a house and got a much bigger living room, and I need a bigger TV for it to look right)

    bedroom: 32" LCD...

If you search around online, there is a chart most of the TV manufacturer's/best buy put out that recommends the proper screen size based on how far away you sit from the TV. It's pretty good in my experience...

One of my buddies had a 65" TV he bought just before he moved out of his apartment and in with his girlfriend... he was sitting about 5 ft away from the 65" in the apt and it was so overwhelming it almost made you sick... watching live at slain castle on it was too much
Houston, Texas... Believe it or not, there are 7 million people here... must be a couple of fans who'd love to see you play.

Small living room but we have a 55" LCD mounted on a stand
in the basement we have a 50" 3D Plasma just on a small stand. The room down there is actually smaller than the living room.

    I didn't think so either but a 55" tv in a 12 x 12 room looks ridiculous, imo. :)

As our living room is also a toy room most of the time, our big TV is in there because we don't have a second LR or family room. Our other TV is in our bedroom. Some day I'll get one for the basement when the kids are a little older and don't need my constant attention.

As far as size, you would be surprised at what the recommended viewing distance is, even for hugeass flatscreens - i forget the exact formula, but it's closer than you think. Did an article on home entertainment for my newspaper and I was shocked.

    42" in bedroom
42" in kitchen (our main hangout space - our den/family room has an old TV in it, it's a funky space for a big TV, we'd need to remodel the room)

I envy all of you people with basements.

If you're ready to dump them, how about Self titled vinyl for the 70" 3D? Could settle for the 55" if you throw in a Mike bobblehead
