A 6yr old's vision of what society should be...

Adults should stop and listen to children because they don't have the bitterness greed and hatred modern society produces for us adults.

What she has to say is brilliant and I have also agreed with this kind of kindness for our future or we are done.

When you're a child/kid everything is black and white.
When you're an adult with more knowledge/experience everything becomes grey...

Kids always have the best visions...

I hate to bring up his name here - but Jon Bon Jovi recently opened a very nice restaurant (it's fairly upscale - not a dive) in NJ with this same principle - you don't have to pay - you either give what you can monitarily - or - work off your "debt" - wash dishes, clean, sweep, ect.

If we could just solve the "who the hell is paying for this" issue - this type of society would work - 'cause in the end - the restaurant is losing money (you can only sweep the floor so often - or - wash that dish so often) - doing so doesn't re-stock the fridge - and luckily donations and Jon are footing the bill.

But you see the point is that children don't worry about the details of HOW it's going to work. That is the fear money based beliefs adults have. I have not doubt that doing this kind of good, brings about miracles. We always focus on 'WE ARE LOSING MONEY' we have missed the point. Jon Bon Jovi probably does not care if it is losing money. It was not meant to make MONEY. It was meant to help the needy. But mostly to bring awareness to random acts of kindness.

It's about being kind and believe me, there is plenty of money in this world and people like football players, basketball, doctors, ceo's, movie stars, rap artists etc...are all over payed! It's a shift of mind, one has to have faith that by doing good good comes back to us and money is not the reason we are here. It is the reason for war and why so many people are suffering.

Again, get out of the mind of an adult. We are too ego based and fearful and ignorant to what real giving means. I think it's about perspective..just change your mind. Don't go for the money! Go for the good for all and them we are all rewarded. I don't know why some people don't get that. :)

The problem with this though is that is not sustainable... It will only last for so long.
Plus your basically relying on a rich/wealthy person to provide the services/jobs until he runs out of money/store closes and then what?
This sounds cool, but in your example your still relying on someone to provide you with a good/service and a choice of how to obtain the good. After a while, more desperate people will go there to get a (Free) meal, and do a couple of odd jobs (dishes/buss)to work it off, this will cause the service to go down, servers won't make any money (tips) because people won't have money to pay them. People willing to pay for their food won't go anymore because the service sucks and its no longer an upscale restuarant.

Kids are like this because they don't know anything or have any experiences.
Why do you think you have to tell kids not to take candy from strangers???
Take money out of the equation and you will still have the same human traits of greed, selfishness, power, etc...
Its not money, its evolution, survival of the fittest...

AGAIN THE POINT IS MISSED. The child is not being logical and practical and worried, she is thinking from her heart not her head! Did you miss that part? And to push an idea aside because we adults think it's too impossible need to open their hearts because adults run this world now and things don't look so good. Is adult reasoning working????? NO.

Only an adult would say something negative about this child's dream.. :  We do not believe these things are possible. Adults have forgotten. A negative response to this video is just plain small minded and frankly comes from a spoiled adults attitude that expect the world to wipe their ass. Upscale restaurant? What does that have to do with starving humans? sigh...wth?

There is a reason everybody wishes they were kids again...

I did not say anything negative about the video or the child, just your ignorance of assuming that reality can work like this.

    A question for you?

WHO TOLD CHILDREN SANTA EXISTS? WE DID!
WHO INVENTED BLACK FRIDAY? WE DID?
WHO TELLS OUR CHILDREN WHAT TO THINK AND HOW TO BE AND HOW TO LIVE? The media/adults.

If you have kids then well, eek but hey, if you believe children are stupid, then who is to blame for the way the world is suffering now? Adults! duh

Dr. Suess wrote the book The Lorax. Maybe you should pick it up and throw down your egotistical control and think that we have to change. "if someone like you does not care a whole awful lot, then nothings going to change, it's not."

    p.s.
In kind gifting is not a new concept. Hippies do it all the time..poor people use to do it..if you have no money and you need food or shelter or medical care, in the days before TV people gave back with what they had to offer. Doctors use to live on farms and take chickens as payment for services rendered.
Our culture is killing us and we don't even care or notice because we have been brainwashed by the greedy and the rich.

    KILL YOUR TV
    READ ISHMAEL
CHLDREN ARE THE NEXT CROP OF ADULTS.
    READ ADBUSTERS MAGAZINE

i hope they are smarter than us.

Since when was trading goods and services called "in kind gifting". How can you gift something when you are giving it because of some goods/service you received?

It's a nice message but it would have to rely on those that receive giving back at some point in time in order for the system to work.

Also, when I was six I wanted to play for Bob Knight and the Indiana Hoosiers. Sometime around the age 13, reality set in.

    It's called TRADING.

    Hmmmm?

I hope the shit does not hit the fan and a big solar flare comes and takes out electricity for a year....there are some people who will never make it. They just don't get it. Thining the herd sounds pretty good right now.

Just watch the movie Idiocracy that is a great example of what happens when the smart stop breeding the ignorant and stupid control the world. How's that workin for you now?

Reminds me of Pulp Fiction. At the end when Samuel L. Jackson says his little speech to the so called "bad guy"..
The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

Is the video cute - absolutely. Would it be nice if most people thought innocently and without greed or anger corrupting them - for sure. Is there a lesson to learn - most certainly. Is it realistic - absolutely not. But why? 'Cause in a society ruled by the all mighty dollar - someone's gonna get screwed. Even if you replace money with a barter system - someone's gonna get screwed. How many toilets are you gonna have to scrub so that you can "pay-off/barter-for" that heart transplant you need?

But I do understand and appreciate the message - certainly.

Fun Fact - that video is 18 years old - and that lil girl is now a CEO at a Fortune 500 Company - and has likely bought and sold the soul of someone you know. JK! JK!

Is this you speaking from your heart or from reality?...

The question to me is this me speaking from my heart or from my reality?

i speak from the heart. The heart is my reality. Yes your right many people would have to give up something? Now come on..if you saw a man beating a child in public, even if you belong to a Satanic support group, you would make the decision to help her. So in your logic I should ask you a question, If that guy who is beating a child in public takes place in a world yet to come where he carries weapons that compared to yours, you trying to help is futile. Why because of your fear of death and self preservation. So logic and heart are both equal. But see, I am a mother. It's not called Mother Earth for no reason....and I also never allowed violence to enter my son's mind because I evolved from my mother's fearful closed logical mind and I never wanted to do the same to my child. I stopped the cycle. But here is where I will admit to being a hypocrite I say I practice non violence but if i have tried my best to run away or talk my way through conflict, and this other "human" wanted to harm MY CHILD he would be in for a fucking fight.

So look at what your perspective of pure logic has gotten us. Look what kind of fucked up problems YOUR children are gonna have because we didn't open our minds, look to the future, or even care to think about the future because with your logic you would say, hey, it won't matter to me i will be dead. Is that something we should look at? Because mothers think differently. We don't have that sometime ugly chemical called testostrone. Man is always in charge even when women stand next to them and agree, the woman is an has been beaten down for ages. WE THINK DIFFERENTLY. We think more often in emotional feelings or to put it another way, we can so easily put ourselves into our children's shoes and feel what it might feel like to a child to be neglected. We have neglected our children's children. Hey what do I care....NOT my kid.

Can you not agree that we have done to destroy the planet we live because we keep doing the same thing over and over and over again. We resist total change. If a Kkk member ass was being chased by some hollywood alien and do you think he would use logical mind if the only home that offered instant protection was that of a 'NIGGER" My opinion, he would not care because he ass was on the line and at the moment he may not be happy a black family offered him shelter, but he at least he is human. Not alien.

It's time to accept that mankind has been thinking in a box. Woman kind have more intuition and think with the heart. You call us the weaker sex, but we knew as tribal women when the enemy was coming for the tribe before the men. The men were the strength they needed to protect them as a society. They worked in harmony. The heart has long been overlooked. If you are hitting yourself in the head and it hurts but you keep doing it and then you start doing it to your kid, you are insane. All you have to do is stop judging, hating craving and start saying What the fuck have we done to our children's world.?"

if you don't give a shit about chiildren...or evolution..or......kindness like you find in monks, in mother teresa, in all people who try to use their heart to make decisions, and YOU LISTEN TO PEARL JAM ...????

It's kinds creepy. I mean here we are in the message pit. Which is a pit of agrumentative people. The voices of the positive the voices of change don't come here often because of the lack of kindness. You like Pearl Jam...so i assume you like the stories....and can i assume you admire vedder?...if so why aren't you listening to what they are saying? the band has exposed its fan base to books and mags and people who have ideas on how to rapidly evolve us, not fucking techy like, I'm talking the violence has got to stop. If you dont' agree with what the hell are you doing here?

That does not seem logical to my heart. :)

If you dont' agree with what the hell are you doing here?

That does not seem logical to my heart. :)
Listen, I don't think anyone is disagreeing with this video, its just not reality.
That is why my family has their own set of rules and values that we live by...
Start with your family first, then branch out and save the world (by your values/ethics/actions/responsibility), but if you don't do it in your own home, how can you expect to do it on a grande scale and influence others...

          well said. but
if you keep opening door #1 and there is nothing there, and you dont ever open door #2, how will you know if what you are looking for is actually there.

Change and value and morals and kindness are keystones in life.

Change starts with only one person. You have to change you. Listen to you heart.

What is it really saying? Do you want to continue this reality. if so you are in the matrix.

that makes me sad for you and everyone here.

          Nothing to be sad about...
Have you ever thought or studied the rarity of life, the abilities that we have and the things we are able to experience.
How lucky we are just to be alive in this blip on the radar existence.
Think abou tthe number of combinations that happened to even bring you into existence, think about how rare that is.
Enjoy this extremely short life you have, because before you know it, it will be over and you will spend eternity doing what you were doing before you were born...

Also, when I was six I wanted to play for Bob Knight and the Indiana Hoosiers. Sometime around the age 13, reality set in.

And that reality was that you realized Bob Knight was a huge tool and wanted to play for Purdue instead?

No, I didn't realize that until I was 20. At 13 I realized that I didn't have the skills to pay the bills. :(

C'mon, even a 6 year old that still believes in Santa doesn't believe that Purdue is any good. I bet there are less than 10 kids that grow up dreaming of being a Boilermaker.
