Oooh, I was looking for this thread before & couldn't find it. I wanted to ask.... I love checking off the touristy things when I go to new places & so when I'm in Stockholm, where do I get the best Swedish meatballs(just noticed comment on that in 1st post) & I've read about Pelikan old fashioned beer halls & is it good to wander around Gamla Stan(oh, I see there's info about that in page 1 too) + the midday changing of the guard at the royal palace sounds worth checking out.

I'm definitely going to try & make the most of my 2'ish days in Stockholm. :)

Coming here all the way from NZ, thats awesome! The meatballs place is good for a quick lunch, if youre looking for more of a restaurant for dinner, this is the place many consider have the best meatballs:
Restaurant: Prinsen, its in central Stockholm, warning, it can be pricey, but meatballs would be on the cheaper end on the menu. But youll prob pay 15-20 Euro for a meatball dish. This restaurants is one of Stockholms real classic ones. Address: Mäster Samuelsgatan 4

Pelican that you mentioned is a beer hall, ate there not too long ago, its cheaper than the one I mentioned, and the food is good! Meatballs here are recommended as well!

So now you got three really good meatball options :)
Cool. Thank-you!! I spent a few days in Malmo a few years ago, so my 2nd time in Scandinavia. Very much looking forward to it, even if it will all be rushing around to concerts etc. :)

    Snagging. :)

Anyone else miss out on Oslo tix so goin Stockholm - Copenhagen? Travel tips?

I usually use flybe.com when booking flights between Sthlm and Copenhagen. They fly from Bromma and it's actually closer to Sthlm city (8km) than Arlanda, which is the major airport (35km) . There are buses going from Stockholm Central to Bromma and it's only a 20 minute ride. I wouldn't recommend taking the train during the summer time as they tend to be crowded and more expensive than flying.
