    According to the NY Daily News and other newspapers, Amsterdam tourists are banned from buying green in 2012.

    umm, seriously, but that's a really bad move, tourism-wise speaking. weed will still be available all over for everyone, but at steep prices in the streets. or you bribe a dutchie to buy some. ;)

    I read the dutchies will need purchasing cards that have amount limits. This will discourage reselling to tourists.

    I'm guessing if the price is right, they'll do it.

    I'm not too bothered, barely smoke at all, especially since the price range is barely justified by the quality (Amsterdam was always a nice exception to this) but I do think it's not a very intelligent policy. They could've just limited the amount tourists can buy, so exporting won't make sense.
    ah well, guess I'll settle for a heineken instead. :)

    Not sure what to make of it. I had heard these types of rumors back in 93 before I went there the first time.
    I heard them again in 2010.

    It would suck big time to drop the cash on this kind of trip and have the rug pulled out from under me once I get there.
    Sure, the canals are pretty and there's nice museums... but there's cool stuff in the USA too that would be a hell of a lot cheaper for me to check out.

    I did! Coming over from Atlanta...since we don't get shows down in our neck of the woods!

    Kinda wish that it was about 10-12 years earlier though, damn random drug tests! Would have been nice to try out all the different goods without fear of losing my job... :cry:

    Well guys, you all can smoke weed in Amsterdam! It still is allowed. But only in coffeeshops... But be a little creative and you just can smoke weed somewhere else in the city :mrgreen:

    The only thing that can happen is that people ask for your ID so they can check your age. Here in my city a coffeeshop had to close the doors for a month because of selling weed to someone below the age of 16 or 18...

    So have fun! Don't drink and drive home, but smoke weed and fly home!
