    Grew up with fake, now it's real all the way.

    Although, I do miss helping Dad retrieve the box from under the eaves, and match the branches to their color-coded spot on the central pole.

    Then he'd put on the big, fat Christmas lights that were so hot they actually melted the plastic needles in places.

    I miss that...

    We've had a fake tree every year since we got married, but this year she wanted a real tree. I'm pretty sure we'll be going back to the fake one from now on. It's pre-lit, doesn't need watering and doesn't have needles dropping off which requires constant vacuuming.
    I wish I was as fortunate, as fortunate as me.
