I think old people are grumpy for some of the same reasons teenagers are assholes, Cant Drink (anymore), Cant Smoke (anymore), Cant Fuck (anymore). I'd be Grumpy too.

This is awesome. I had a friend say nearly the same thing a few days ago and it got me thinking -- mostly because my Grandfather was a mean old mostly unhappy fella who bossed my grandmother around in their later years. But he always seemed unhappy.

My Grnadmother on the other hand, was sweet and nice and was never an asshole.

I could never understand how they acted so differently, but I saw that she aged more gracefully and accepted getting old. He was just bitter.

my grandpa was this guy except the bossing the wife around bit. the gramps we knew was different than the gramps who raised his kids. as life does, life kicked gramps and gramdma in the ass giving grandma a big stroke knocking her out of the games early in their lives together.

then grandpa turned bitter, the grandpa we knew. and what a bitter old bastard he was. very stern and shit. you did not slam grandpa's doors. fuckin stupid shit really. a devoted catholic. grandma played the organ at 3 different churches on saturday and sunday and different events at the different churches.

grandpa taught us how to earn 50 cents by pulling weeds out of his brick sidewalk using putty knives. this was a large sidewalk and patio. we all 3 pitched our 50 cents each in to buy a pack of smokes. thanks gramps

    check this out

a lady in her 60's & daughter (she has three daughters) live nearby. the mom is very religious & has disowned one of her daughters because that daughter is a wiccan. this confused gal says her daughter is a devil worshipper out in arizona where she lives.

the daughter i talk to sometimes told me that if her mom knew she was bi-sexual, her mom would up & disown her as well.

i'm like, "what the fuck?" "what's wrong with your mom?" i then said, "she is a religious fanatic, that's her problem"

    1. she disowned one of her daughters because that daughter is wiccan
    2. she believes marijuana is the devil's drug
    3. gay people are evil (one of her daughters has to hide the fact she like women)
    4. tattooed people are sinners (i'm sleeved out & get the evil eye & i must be a x-con)
    5. the list goes on & on

    you want amazing?

she allowed her x husband (back when they were married) to physically & mentally abuse her baby daughter (the one i'll speak with every now & again)

i told this girl that her mom is actually closer to being evil than any of you girls yet she is all over multiple churches as she is a member to several of them.

i am ready to smash my face into a concrete block

  • I could join you in ranting about overtly religious people and the seemingly high percentage of them that seem to be so, so fake....it is one of the things in life that bothers me the most. (My brother in law is the chief of this tribe)
Your description of this family, however, paints the picture of one fucked up lady and religious or not this lady would be a waste of life.
I would have a tough time not fucking with that lady every chance I got. Maybe go up and show her your latest tattoo or ask her if she would sign a same sex marriage petition or shit like that.
Don't believe in heaven or hell but if I did I would hope to see this woman in hell. Feel badly for her daughters on a number of fronts...

I'm not sure how that incident demonstrates rudeness other than the rudeness of letting a dog bark all the time and disturb people.

    nice post you have here...

mom was in the hospital with kidney cancer (& now has cancer starting in again) & the dog was missing her & was barking & howling as dogs do

the dog carrying on is the last thing i give a fuck about as im 100 miles away at the hospital

some of these neighbors are religious nutcases & they are rude nasty shitheads
some deserve to be slapped across the face. i don't hit women & i don't hit older women but i sure as shit feel like farting in their very near area for them to deep breathe it in

I kinda was thinking the same thing.

People go nuts over neighborhood dogs barking. All ages. Leaving the dog out to bark is kinda mean and inconsiderate of the neighbors... Wait, was the dog in or outside?

Anyway, yeah, I've seen people go ballistic over the neighbor dogs...

I've seen old people go ballistic over a bike being left in the driveway. If the dog was outside due to extraordinary circumstances and wasnt usually out barking all day I would say be considerate of the fact that your neighbor has cancer and the dog being outside longer than necessary is a must. Especially if you are a religious nut - love they neighbor and all of that.
My thoughts on it; agree with Chadwick's position, especially since it is his mother who is sick and if I imagine how I would feel after getting home from 12 hours at the hospital with my mom. I applaud coming on here and venting and not letting things boil over with the old nutty neighbor.

Yeah, I agree. I think consideration for other people and their circumstances are lost on many people, old or not. Kudos Chad.

my step grand mother was a very religous nazarene church goer. she only convinced her husband (dad's dad) to alter his will/estate to fully benefit her & her only. so grandpa lie on his death bed & wilma went to work on him changing every single thing he had worked (& his first wife, dad's mom) for including his first wife's life's work.

nearly half a million in monies & the rest in estate.

dad got a check for $100.00
    us three boys each $33.00

    nice job wilma

Stay strong Chad, your mom battling cancer for the 3rd time can certainly put a strain on you.

I can understand how these so called "religious" people should have more common sense and respect for their neighbors but religion has nothing to do with complete lack of sensitivity..... They should be thinking of what they can do to help out ??

my prayers, good vibes and support is being sent to you and your mom - hold on...
