what the hell is wrong with you? as time goes by i've gotten to know some of these folks i speak of. and i've noticed that many are indeed pricks.
my mother is in the hospital a lot these days. she's there right now actually. problem is this... her neighbors are these old ladies who appear to be nice and stuff but are quite the opposite. mom's dog loves my mom. that's all there is to it. the dog and mom are best buddies. the dog goes on hunger and water strikes when mom is away.
often the dog is outside in the yard with water and food for 10 or 12 hours at a time.
so the dog barks and howls when mom is away. big fat fucking deal! who gives a fuck? i don't. there isn't one single thing i can do about it.
i come home to mom's place lastnight after being in the hospital 12 hours and mom's one neighbor (we'll call, dickhead) is at the front of her place shouting to me about the dog barking and only after i just got home 1 second prior. i shouted back as i was getting out of my car, "i just got home from being in the hospital with mom all day, how the hell can i stop the dog's barking?"
mind you, all i hear from these people are... church church church. you lyin stupid bitches. your true heartfelt bullshit is weak and sucks donkey nuts.
my very last nerve has been struck by these old nasty people. and as i look around and get out and about that is what sticks out the most. old nasty religious people who think they got everyone fooled.
it aint 1950 anymore you old bitches. now go get your hair permed. do you wash your hair once every week or is that 2 weeks? stupid fuckin bitch fix your own christmas lights.

sorry if it wasn't meant to be funny ...
i know what you mean tho ... old people are just nasty and belligerent these days ... i was helping a friend run a beach race where he had all the permits ... just wanted to let people know a race would be coming by ... everyone was more than accommodating except the old folks ...
Weak AND sucks donkey nuts! Couldn't have said it better myself. (Sorry to hear about your mom.)
I almost mowed-down several pedestrians when I moved out west. Then when I got used to them, I was almost mowed-down when returning home for a visit.
I'm amazed with the amount of people that audaciously step-out into a crosswalk without hesitation or looking both ways. The pedestrian has the right of way, but I would at least check to see if the guy in the pickup truck is paying attention first ... your rights don't mean a whole lot when several tons of mechanized steel hits you. :ugeek:
As for old people being grumpy ... I would be too if I was required to wear diapers again.
Age does not equal wisdom. The calendar does not automatically add wisdom or knowledge to the dim-witted. And respect is not automatically granted, just because you are an old fuck. That somehow, you deserve respect just because of your age. Respect is commanded... meaning one has to possess character traits that command respect from others... not just in words or actions alone... with words that back up actions and vice-versa.
We see a lot of old people who are stubborn and complacent with where they are and are not willing to grow. We have the choice... continue to grow up, otherwise, grow old.
...
I know the type you (Original Poster) are talking about... I almost got hit on my skateboard by some old bat turning into a driveway. She blew her horn and yelled that I needed to watch where I was going.
Hail, Hail!!!
LOL!
what a crock of shit.

On the flip side, an older person can have good perspectives and wisdom to pass on if done so graciously. The best example of this is a statement Willie Nelson made once. I don't remember the exact quote but it was something like, "It's not that I'm smarter than you, I've just been around the block a few more times, that's all." Given in that spirit, I'm more inclined to listen to that older persons advice.
Of course, I'm not sure any of you are older than me so you can all go pound sand.
(Just kidding )

its the only way we can tell when a car that is going 9 mph is occupied or not down here in Florida -- when you see a little puff of blue hair!
sorry about your Mom chadwick ... my heart goes out to you both and the dog
Key word being 'can'. To many older people, perspective and wisdom is automatically granted as they stack up the years upon their lives. The quest for Knowledge should not end on graduation day. A person may have been around the block a few time, but if they didn't learn anything along the way, their advice is shit. If someone sits in front of a television, night after night and gets all of their opinions from there... they are no wiser that the kid who does the exact same thing.
I have heard people regurgitate words that sound like they were taken from the greeting card rack at a Target Store in a weak attempt to sound wise. Any idiot can spew those vague sentiments in tiny sound bites, but cannot go any deeper than the sticky valentines up on the shelf. Wisdom comes from knowledge, experience, observation, critical thought and contemplation. Just because we notch years on our belts, doesn't mean we get any wiser.
Hail, Hail!!!
Godfather.
but perhaps for some here their kindness and manners have vanished as well
pretty tough on older people when most do not deserve that ...
in my opinion
I have found a smile ...
really brings an elderly person to you ready to share
and you know what ...
it is enjoyable
All depends on who you attract to you on your path, a smile does wonders
They're rich too!! Ya! They're the 1% those fuckers!! Ya! Lets get 'em!!!!
They're rude!! Ya! They can't drive like us!!! Ya!
I heard some of them still believe in God!!! No way!!!!!! Ya!!! Fuckers!!!!!!
Kill the old people, make way for OWS, fuckers!!! Ya!!! Lets... get .... 'em.....
wtf is wrong w/ this generation?
....what was this thread about again?
oh yeah... my condolences to the OP on his mother's medical situation... sending thoughts and prayers.
I'm already there... and am heading dowhill on the curve. But, I do not think I deserve respect for anything other than the way act... for who I am. I don't profess that I am any wiser, more experienced or more knowledgeable than anyone half my age. I understand the process can work both ways and I can learn from younger people.
Regarding religion... I am not going to choose Jesus or God... just because i'm older. I still have all of those unanswered questions in my baggage that no one has been able to shine any light on. I am not afraid of dying, because I know I will find one truth I am looking for. I think I would dishonor Jesus... specifically His teaching... if I were to accept Him, 'Just In Case' what the Roman Catholic Church decided about Him is true.
I'm of the belief that life is our personal quest. If someone's quest is to absorb as much crap that seeps into their lives through that television... that is their quest.
And yeah... I've run into a lot of old people that think they know it all... not from knowledge or wisdom... but, simply because they are old fucks.
Hail, Hail!!!

This is awesome. I had a friend say nearly the same thing a few days ago and it got me thinking -- mostly because my Grandfather was a mean old mostly unhappy fella who bossed my grandmother around in their later years. But he always seemed unhappy.
My Grnadmother on the other hand, was sweet and nice and was never an asshole.
I could never understand how they acted so differently, but I saw that she aged more gracefully and accepted getting old. He was just bitter.
Ya, I'm a little jacked up today....but seriously, I hope everything gets better real soon man- Holidays and all.
Keep your head up, and like my Gma used to say, "Don't let the bastards get you down."
anymore!
Actually that is running true for many age groups.
It can be a disconnect for the elderly... the world changing so and in many ways
not for the better.
Its tough to live in a world that you feel you don't belong anymore,
live in pain most days,
and can pretty much count your days.
How would you feel? Sometimes cranky?
I am amazed at the positive older people I run into considering.
Some are just happy to be here, always appreciative of beauty and love.
Reach out make an older person happy today you'll be in their shoes in no time!
I have to figure out how to make this my avatar this weekend!
