Brian Wilson is on there, Fugazi, L7, King's X, Living Colour, Morrissey, Phish,
That would be an awful choice. Sorum is about as generic as drummers get.
Living Colour?... come on.
Amen. Not only is Steven a great drummer and a huge part of the band's sound, Sorum just sucks period.
Besides, if there is a reunion performance, it should only be with the original 5 playing something from Appetite.

Name one thing they did that was revolutionary...what era they dominated....even a quality song....
You obviously have no idea what you are talking about. The Beasties are the first rap act with a number 1 album on the charts and are revolutionary for what rap has been over the last 20 years. Paul's boutique was the first album that had sampling on it. Get a clue.
Both bands have been relevant for close to 30 years. Guns N Roses were relevant for maybe 4 years tops. I don't understand how they actually got in but who am I.

Explain. They have been shit for years.
Clueless.

Maybe. I'm just trying to figure out why the RHCP get so much love.
The dude was talking about RHCP and you jumped all over him about the Beasties..

Oh fuck Peter Gabriel dude. If you're gonna complain about acts that should be in the Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame but aren't, complain about Iron Maiden and Deep Purple not being in before you waste your breath on Kiss and Peter Gabriel.

Will John Frusciante or Jack Irons play with RHCP is a much better question!

Steven's been touring on a consistent basis for about 10 years now with his Adler's Appetite band (more or less a GNR cover band but nonetheless). He could play these songs in his sleep by now.
RHCP shouldn't have been inducted until the 25th anniversary of Mother's Milk though
Sammi: Wanna just break up?
and there's no way paul's boutique was the first rap album to use samples.
just kinda, you know, replying to everything at once.
wonder how many artists released new albums the same year they made it into the hall of fame - at least 2 this year.
well of course it's not because it's not even the first Beastie Boys album to use samples. Licensed To Ill is. And while Licensed also isn't the first rap album to use samples, I think it may be the first to sample hard rock songs. "Walk This Way" by Run DMC can't truly be considered "sampling" because it's really a straight forward cover but with Steven Tyler singing the chorus. "Rhyming and Stealing" featuring that signature Zeppelin drum beat and a badass Sabbath riff was really a "first of it's kind" type of song. Before that, it seems like all rap samples came from either jazz, funk, or previous rap songs.

Sabotage, their most famous song, is rock song. And about a third of their entire catalog are instrumental funk jams. So while I guess I see where you're coming from, I wouldn't lump the Beastie Boys in with Madonna, Michael Jackson, and other "pop" acts that are in the rock hall.

Rap groups from early on had been sampling hard rock for the bass and drum beats (Aerosmith was always a favourite as well as Billy Squier's "The Big Beat")
