I just went to my local record shop at 9am when they opened and got their one copy. I ordered two each from B&N, Best Buy and Amazon. I want a copy and plan to give my Dad a copy for Christmas.

At the very least I have my one copy I just grabbed, and my Amazon order looks good, so I may end up with an extra. Therefore I was going to cancel the B&N and Best Buy orders, but being that I haven't heard anything from them about it anyway, figure the orders may end up getting cancelled on their end.

Gotcha. Best Buy now says "Backordered" so it's doubtful those will ever come through. May as well cancel that one. Might not cancel the B&N order until I get home and physically have the Amazon order in hand.

But I do have one copy here at work that I am staring at and smiling!

CORRECT.. instead of honoring the original preorders that were up (the $30 orders)... they straight up cancelled on me without any word of warning or asking to reorder.. there should be laws against stuff like that to keep these preorder things in check.
