Ow my back!! My lower back is in severe spasm right now. I can barely move! It's so painful! This is a new prob for me... anyone have some advice by any chance?? :( (my god, this is really making me feel old)

I've had disc problems for a long time (L4, L5). Do you know if its muscle or discs (or something else)? I ice my back and take tylenol. When it was so bad that I could hardly move, I went to the doctor and was prescribed a mild steroid pack. I was very reluctant to take it, but it worked wonders. I used to re-injure it all the time too, but since that steroid pack, I hardly ever injury it severely anymore.

Thanks JP! I feel pretty confident saying that this is muscular and not spinal. I think the muscles are just in spasm (no idea why of course). Do you think that ice or heat would be better for that?? I think heat, but not positive. Going to call my mom in a bit and get her to bring some muscle relaxants, see how that works... hoping well enough so I can make my way to the shiatsu massage place that i live near. Hopefully that will do the trick!

Hopefully the massage helps too!
I stayed away form chiropractors because they made my back worse.

Got bad enough for me to go to the doctor... got killer muscle relaxers that have me high as a kite right now, and most importantly a prescription for massage therapy. Massages covered by my health plan!! Whoo hoo! lol

Happy to come home to a winter wonderland...not much accumulation but it's beautiful and will be nice to snuggle down in my own bed. Heading back out of town in a week, going to enjoy my warm, cozy home for now and then off to see my favorite man again.

My back hurts from an old car accident but good because we have access to the lord to ask and know whatever the only difference some dont and just assume their way in life with existing intuition or big people who really are not so big...

Wigged out because I may have adhesive capsulitis in my left shoulder...I may slowly lose most or all of my mobility in that shoulder for at least 2 years and it hurts like hell. Not looking forward to the possibility of chronic pain and not being able to do all the things I love or my job for that matter.
