Pearl jam is better than the beetles and rolling stone.
I'm sick of everybody mentioning these two bands when it comes to 'greatest band ever' arguments. I get it, the beetles wrote let it be and shit- so what, pearl jam wrote black, yellow Ledbetter and even flow- boom that just happened. Fuck off losers, pearl win based on the fact that they have more talent. The end

The one spot those bands may win is exploiting themselves better than PJ. They were the real careerist.
But for me those two bands transitioned rock and roll.
Pearl Jam is better, to me. Because they are my band. I'm not from the 50's or 60's or 70's... I'm speaking as a child of the 90's.
:-)
You're 39! That makes you a child of the 80's...
On topic : My parents' marriage was a mixed one - Dad = RS & Mom = B. I remember some epic fights, I'm scarred for life...
PJ is better. Hands down.
The Beatles on the other hand, are the greatest and most influential musical group of all time. They're untouchable.
The RS are legendary, but not in the same league as the foursome from Liverpool.
I agree with you 100%!
Beatles and Stones have never and will never do anything for me.
If I want 60's I'll listen to The Doors, Velvet Underground, The Who, Beach Boys, Jefferson Airplane, Jimi Hendrix.
But no band comes close to Pearl Jam, Nirvana perhaps but Pearl Jam can never be toppled for me.
I was about to do that one.

Another pointless thread, but that really made me laugh.

There we go.
PS - would there be a PJ without the Beatles or Stones, or the Who or Neil Young???
PPS - I would vote for PJ of course
music and art is no competition. i love music including stones, beatles, pj.
I shamefully hang my head now over the 80's.
Spandex, hairspray, pleather, Jerry Curls.... Yikes!!

"Life Is What Happens To You When Your Busy Making Other Plans" John Lennon
And, just as importantly, The Beatles sparked a cultural revolution.
Pearl Jam is a phenomenal band, and they'd probably land somewhere in my top 10, but comparing them to The Beatles is ludicrous. Saying they're better is delusional.
Exactly...to list everything the Beatles accomplished for be a pretty long list. PJ is one of my favorite bands, but of active bands today i'm not even so sure their the best.
"Life Is What Happens To You When Your Busy Making Other Plans" John Lennon
Considering that I've been a die-hard PJ fan for almost twenty years, I guess I agree with you. Why be so pissy about it though? There are far better ways to get your opinion out there.
p.s. What's this "Boom, that just happened", is that like "whoop there it is"?
Yes PJ are a great band, My favorite band of this era, and they are a better live band than the Beatles, who were a studio band for the last 5 years of their existence. The Stones are way past their prime and have been since about 1980 but in the years 1969 - 1973, they were the greatest live act ever, but the torch has passed through many bands since then and PJ now have it.
George Harrison is no "Poor man's Stone Gossard", by any means. Harrison was a great, innovative guitarist who influenced many great players and was one of the best songwriters of all time, in a class with his bandmates Lennon and McCartney.
You have a lot to learn about The Beatles if you think Let It Be is either the best Beatles song or album.

Pretty sure about this one.
And that's because they love music and know about the history of rock music, and the influence of these two bands on a generation and on society.
Pearl Jam is a great band, but clearly not as important as the Stones or the Beatles have been, and still are.
yeah
it was a little harsh even for me
but i agree 100%
"what a long, strange trip it's been"
Oh, and it's spelt Beatles, and I think there's 5 guys who might just disagree, they're called Ed, Mike, Stone, Jeff and Matt.
Pearl Jam are by far my favourite band but this comparison should never be made, very childish.
And also, does it really matter? Go get some fresh air ans smile!
Sorry, I love both bands. I am a way bigger fan of PJ than I ever was for The Beatles.
But, the fact is The Beatles were MUCH better innovators, song writers, risk takers, trend setters... the list goes on.
