and I turn and say to bathy...3 million huh? is that even gonna put a dent in this city? it sucks cause our homeless situation here is outta control.

otherwise I had a blast, great show, energy and setlist and good to see so many familiar faces :)

Routine was the theme,... he'd wake up,..wash and pour himself
Into uniform,... something he hadn't imagined being...

As the merging traffic passed,... he found himself staring,..
    Down,... at his own... hands..
Not remembering the change,... not recalling the plan,
    Was it...?

He was okay,... but wondering... about wandering
Was it age?... By consequence?... or was he moved by
    Sleight of hand?

Mondays were made to fall,... lost on a road he knew by heart
It was like a book he read in his sleep,... endlessly...
Sometimes he hid in his radio,... watching others pull into their homes
    While he was drifting...

On a line,... of his own,... off the line,... on the side
Bye the by,.... as dirt turned to sand,
As if moved by sleight of hand...

When he reached the shore of his... clip-on world...
    He resurfaced to the norm
Organized his few things,... his coat and keys...
Any new realizations... would have to wait...
Til he had more time,... more time...
Time to dream,... to himself... he waves goodbye,
To himself... I'll see you on the other side...

Another man...moved by sleight of hand...

I just can't imagine paying the money you all paid (I don't know if you specifically, paid any money to get your ticket. I am talking in general) to see Masters of War, Harvest Moon and Sleight of Hand. All three I've seen live over the years. Now, WASH as an opener...that's a whole different story :-)

I'm glad you all help raised all that money for charity though.

3 million dollars? How much money did PJ put into that? certainly the tickets alone couldn't have even raised $100,000.

Well not sure the ticket breakdown but if you had 500 tickets each at $2500, $1000, $500 and $250 - that is over 2 million right there.

    SHOW COUNT: (164) 1990's=3, 2000's=53, 2010/20's=108, US=118, CAN=15, Europe=20 ,New Zealand=4, Australia=5

this site is becoming more fascist - God forbid you have a contrarian opinion

But you can't make statements like

"Beacon has no curfew" and "we're gonna play all night" and "this city is special to us and it's the last night of our tour" ... etc etc
    and then only do 27

i admit we're spoiled but a 2hr 20min show is barely cause for excitement when i saw two kick-a$$ shows at msg the week before

yeah - we're spoiled - but we're pearl jam fans here and we're not talking about madonna (someone who charges $250 for an hour set)

the vibe was cool and the sound at the beacon is sick (as always)

but show was short pure and simple

maybe something to do w/ his voice and needing "steroids" as he said

but expected more for the amount of money that was raised, etc.

Wow, you long time PJ fans are spoiled :)! 2 hours and 20 minutes of awesome rock and roll, it does not get much better then that !

As a long time casual PJ fan and seeing them for the first time ever these last 2 weeks, here is some perspective ...

I love Van Halen, I saw them this year for the first time , went to 6 shows, I loved every minute of it. But the set list was EXACTLY the same for every show ( 1 song dropped at end of tour). Imagine that , every night the same set list , on this PJ site people are complaining about 7 or 8 repeats, how about 25 repeats a night ?

I have seen U2 about 15 times over the years , I love them too, but I remember some shows being only 1 hour and 45 minutes sometimes, not every time , but have left some of those shows feeling a bit empty.

So enjoy what you got , as an outsider just stepping inside , those PJ shows I went to were unbeliavable !

Great set, but terrible crowd. The girl next to me wouldn't shut up about making post show plans during GTF. It was a cool little show and I definitely am glad I went, but it was no Vic. ;)

    huh???

tix were 2500k for the priciest seats, $250 for the cheapest. i am guessing pj did not take one cent for their performance, and probably paid their crew out of their own pockets so it cost the foundation nada to host.

said 3 million in one night - most they ever raised there, so let's yua know the rolling stones at the beacon last year did not perform entirely gratis. just yet another reason i LOVE this band and what they do. soooooooooo glad i got to be a part of such a special evening in support of a kickass NYC organization.

anyone else a bit  over the copies of ten....? kinda made me chuckle.

solat - it ain't no irving plaza either...but didn't matter. personally, i can't compare it to ANY other show b/c it just isn't in the same category. perhaps if i attended beneroya or something like that, but even then...did they have tix at $2500k each? the show was about raising $$$....so i am unbelievably grateful for the rarities we did get and the love and energy they brought to the beacon. :)

btw - anyone else feel the balcony shaking/vibrating towards the end of the show?! amazing energy up there!

they were just on tour for a few weeks,

and ed did say something at the very beginning about having to take steroids for his throat.

    he was barking.

It still sounded super in that century old landmark theatre , playing to only 2000 of us.

Hahaha. Half the people in the Beacon were probably thinking that. But it doesn't matter- as long as they had a good time. I know the die hards certainly did.
