This thread was a big part why I decided to go last minute to the Cleveland show last night. Had seats in the 5th row off the the right side. He was unbelievable. Anyone thinking about catching a show...you should do it.
I have 2 extra tickets for the show in Ann Arbor, MI tonight. They are main floor, center section and about 1/2 way back. I'm selling the set for $90. Let me know if you want them. I'll be in Ann Arbor around 6:00pm.
I really hope he announces make up dates for the shows that were cancelled in florida. I was pretty excited to be seeing him in miami til he got laryngitis.
Detroit 03, Toronto 03, Toledo 04, Kitchener 05, London 05, Cleveland 06, Detroit 06, Cincinnati 06, Chicago 07, Mansfield 08, EV Chicago 08, East Troy 11, Pensacola 12, EV Jax 12, Wrigley 13, Pittsburgh 13, Dallas 13, OKC 13, Detroit 14, Ft Lauderdale 16, Miami 16, Tampa 16, Jax 16, Sea 18
But I met her & her husband at the show tonight...REALLY FUN talking to these guys!!
They went to both Toronto shows and we talked about the "tweet" for the upcoming tour announcement too!!
Didn't get to meet suave.27, but we did exchange a few texts!!!
Traffic & parking at the venue was CRAZY
Ahh! I was so bummed we were running late for dinner!! And I regret not stopping when we walked in. I looked at my friend, and I said "Look it- PJ shirts! I bet that's them." But I didn't know for sure and then everyone started walking in.
We met some nice 10C members at our hotel and had to squeeze into a Lincoln town car, even though it was supposed to be a shuttle. But hey, it was complimentary and made for good conversation! Hi guys
My favorite TOTD song, Call Me A Dog was a highlight for sure as was everything else played. I also thought it was pretty funny when he was talking about Hunger Strike and he started to talk about "the other band" and "the other lead singer" and there was some massive cheers from the audience and he said "Uhhh he's not here tonight, guys" Also, we ended up in the 4th row (incredible esp. since it was a HS auditorium) to the right of the stage and when he was walking back out from the first encore, my friend said "Is he looking at us?" So I waved and he pointed and gave me a thumbs up which was pretty cool! Overall, I HIGHLY suggest going. Even if you have a little doubt, just do it.

I think I saw your TOWN CAR as we were leaving the venue!!!
That was nice that you had a Shuttle service to the show because parking was a NIGHTMARE
We ended up parking 5 or 6 streets away from the auditorium...there was hardly any parking available in the lot and most people had to find a spot on the streets in the neighborhood.
Sorry we didn't get to chat...but all things aside,
it was a GREAT evening and Chris' performance was AMAZING!!! :ugeek:

Had a good time in Ann Arbor last night. CC was spot on. With that said the EV Detroit show blew CC away. I find EV just brings something extra special to the performance.
Was in Ann Arbor last night...Chris was good...just have know clue what's the matter with people...it's a fucking acoustic tour...why do people feel the need to shout at Chris and scream at the top of their lungs? Almost reminiscent of Eddie at the Fox theater in June. People need to either learn how handle the watered down booze or they need to quit serving alcohol.
I guess the idiots 35 rows back are expecting Chris to have a personal conversation with them.
The only other 2 acoustic shows I've see were Eddie in Toronto...those shows were spot on...great crowds...of course they were in Canada and I they lived up to the reputation of being polite and being able to handle our booze .

2) A fan in the front row named Eddie (not that Eddie) joined Cornell and played guitar on Sunshower while Cornell sang. Eddie nailed the guitar part. Was a great moment. 30% of me thinks it is selfish to request to play along as we didn't pay to hear a fan play Sunshower, but he nailed it.
3) 4th row center tickets from a Ticketmaster drop four days before the show.
4) I think Cornell made up a song on the spot, which was really good.
5) Finally a show I can walk home from and not drive 6 hours.
OVerall I was blown away by Chris's voice. It was perfect. It didn't sound forced and strained, like Eddie at times. I would say musically Ed's shows are more interesting though.
I was bummed for a couple guys sitting next to me. THey were probably a little high, but were very excited to see Cornell and were singing along and just having a good time. That didn't sit well with the couple in front of them and they asked security to pull them out. They should kick out the drunk girls yelling for Chris to sign their shirts.

I agree! There was a girl sitting in the front row of the bottom section across from us shrieking, and SCREAMING after every song. Just screaming his name over, and after When I'm Down screamed "why are you down chris?" and screaming he was a good dad. Really fucking creepy. He ignored her when she asked how old his son was (as he was talking about him) and he ignored her and she screamed it again. He just said "7, maam" and wouldn't look at her. Right after the first song in the encore started my friend told her to shut up and she didn't say anything the rest of the show.
I did wonder what Ed woulda done if she pulled that shit at one of his shows.

Concerts are great if you are in to people watching. It is amazing how some grown adults act. It is strange how just because it is a concert, people feel comfortable making asses of themselves. I was fine with the drunk/high guys next to me because they loved Chris Cornell's music and appreciated being there. So what if they bump into you or sing loud. People like you described are just strange.
Still in complete awe from seeing Cornell last night...! What a friggin night!! Amazing man, I think I love him now even more.
Highlights: Wide Awake, Sunshower, I am the Highway, Call Me a Dog, Hope and Promise Fade, When I'm Down....
I could go on and on. To be close enough to see every little expression on his face, to be able to see his hands playing each note..Jesus.
Jesus.
Really cool, he brought a guy from the audience up on stage to play Sunshower. Dude was awesome, and as Chris said- he had huge balls. Must have been a dream to him, I was super happy for him. If anyone happens to know who that guy was, I got some great pics of it and I'd like to forward them to him.
For anyone who's dogged Chris's voice (I remember reading that around here during the soundgarden tour) believe me-he was so on top of his game last night. Crisp, clear, beautiful and I couldn't have asked for any better. He has that effortless, naturally amazing range- it really shone through last night. I love that he engages the audience and doesn't seem to really have a setlist in front of him, rather he seems to kind of just do what feels right. He took a lot of requests from the audience and the song he made up on the spot was really quite pretty I thought
Only bad thing was we were surrounded by people wasted out of thier minds. I don't mind the ones having a good time an not fucking with others, but these women behind me were screaming for Chris, saying dumb shit ("call me!! CALL ME CHRIS!!!" during "call me a dog"; screaming "yee-haw!!!!" over and over and over. One even put her arms around the neck of the guy I was with from behind and started singing (screaming) in his face. Amyone who told them to alm down or shut up or anything, they'd say "this is the FUN section!!! You have no idea what we went through to get these tickets and how much money we paid!" and then they kept asking people what song he was playing. I was able to tune it out mostly, but right as the show ended and the house lights came on, two guys started brawling right next to me; knocked out several rows of seating (it was temporary seating in a ballroom). One was choking the shit out of the other. Seriously? Who does that?
All in all, amazing show and well worth the 7hour round trip drive
Makes much more sense...

Agree with the posts above, what an awesome night! Burden in my Hand, Blow up the Outside, and the Beatles covers were awesome. I guess I'm thankful that we were a little farther back and couldn't hear the crazy chick screaming. We were in row S and still had a great view of Chris the whole show. I agree, his voice was so spot on, best pitch perfect singer I've heard live.
Went to the Louisville show last night, and it was incredible. The solo acoustic take on "A Day in the Life" has to be seen to be believed. Four straight songs from TOTD? Check. Back-to-back Zeppelin covers? Check. "Outshined" acoustic? Check. "Blow Up the Outside World" was a phenomenal closer. "Seasons" was beautiful...and on and on.
Not sure what was up with the crowd, though. There was a fight in the center orchestra section (so bad that Chris had to stop in the middle of "Like a Stone" to address it), and a lady in the row behind me (orchestra right) threw up on the people in front of her (thankfully, this was a few seats away from my wife and me). This was definitely atypical for a Brown Theatre crowd (and I've seen plenty of rock acts there). But the action on stage was too good to worry about such things. Just incredible.
