I'm looking at getting a Pro-ject.. 2nd hand on ebay preferably (ok, can get a new one for £140.. but I need to save for the shows ).
no speedbox for me, £50 odd is way too much for that.. I mostly listen to albums, the few times I'll do singles, I can spend the 30s to change the band!
Do you know where this goes in the circuit? Between the Turntable and the mainspower, or somewhere else. I can't work out how it works. I presume, it varies the power output to the motor.
This one looks good. Normally I would say you shouln't buy mechanical things second hand, but this one looks well kept.
already spotted
.. now it must stay fairly low though.. can get a brand new Pro-Ject III for £140 delivered, no point in going for the earlier model, second hand, if it's only to save £20-30..

It plugs right into the motor according to the instructions...I'll be honest with you, I didn't really pay much attention to it since we mainly play albums vs singles like Pegasus...
The motor is housed on the top of the unit under the platter, there must be an outlet under there for the speedbox.

I have the project debut III also, matte black. We've had it for a bit over a year now and love it. It's so solid, the steel platter if fantastic!

We don't have one of these, but it was shown to us when we got the turntable...then you don't have to mess with the band to adjust the speed..
