.....2000 Blackie Chicago Poster. (http://www.expressobeans.com/public/detail.php/1683)

I have been looking for this one for quite awhile, and thought I would test the water to see if anyone is interested.

It took me years, but my mission is accomplished!

  • Very cool print, I've never seen that. 27 people have one on expresso beans so 1/2 have to be on here. Good luck

To my knowledge (and I may be wrong), but this poster was supposed to have been sold at the concert, however, a dispute between the band and the artist resulted in the poster being pulled before the show. The artist decided to then sell the poster through their website, until the band intervened, at which time, the artist stopped fufilling orders for the poster. About 125 were sold before it was taken down, which explains the rarity (and the market value) of the poster.

Thanks for the well wishes. I know chances are slim of finding someone who has this and is willing to part with it, but I thought it was worth a shot.

    Thanks for that back story.

I am sure you saw it but there's a recent posting on EB (11/7) looking to sell it. Did you contact this person?

Yes, I did. In fact, that post on EB is what prompted me to post here on LD, as I have not heard back yet.

I can see why the band had it pulled. I'm not a fan of that print at all.

The 2000 Chicago concert was my second PJ show. Would love to have that poster, but am not willing to sell a kidney to get it.

    Good luck with your trade.

Was just about to ask this too. Wow. I can't imagine PJ having a dispute with a poster artist. Good luck finding it!
  • The poster wasn't sold at the show. It came out after the show. There was no official poster for that show. I have the poster, I can't exactly remember how I got it. Either the artist started selling them on eBay or he emailed people that he was selling them. I think they were going for $20 at the time. Unfortunately, when I opened the tube, it was wrapped so tight that I ripped the bottom corner off it. :(

  • Thats the super duper rare one. 125 sold in total means half of them are probably destroyed with pinholes or being up in a dorm room or something, meaning 60-65 in NM condish. Lets say 2/3 of those people have it framed and will never part ways with it, leaving about 20-25 to change hands on the market. At least that's how I'd break it down. Good luck with your trade. I'll never get to see this one up close, but I hope you do.
