I like going to weird themed restaurants...you know the places you may see on The Travel Channel.

http://rustlersrooste.com/

This was one of the cooler ones I've been to in Phoenix. It's a steakhouse and they have a huge real bull outside the front door. You can also enter the dining area by going down a slide. Quite a fun place actually.

Anyone else?

That sounds cool - so wait, they have a huge real, LIVE bull outside?!

I love this place in Madison, WI, it's really cooky with a carousel out in front and there's games in the tables (like those magnet games and stuff) and they have characters like Bart Simpson flying around inside. The food's great too!

These aren't necessarily weird, just unique...

McGuire's Irish Pub in Pensacola. There are signed dollars bills hanging on every square inch of the walls and ceiling (from everyone from Presidents to wrestlers), circus mirrors, misleading signs on the bathroom doors, and a near replica of the tap from the Corova Milk Bar in Clockwork Orange.

This place has the best Twice Baked Potatoes on the planet and is right near Maynard James Keenan's winery:

The slide isn't as cool as it sounds...what makes it fun is watching all of the elderly do it. :D

This wasn't a restaurant but it was weird none the less. I was at a banquet at the Museum of Natural History. The open bar was next to this guy...

And we ate under this guy. It was really weird being drunk under a whale. All I kept thinking was how bad it would suck if that fucker fell. I also had steak but was convinced not to ask for ketchup so I didn't look trashy. :D

the museum pictures made me remember when we went to see PJ20 at the Franklin Institute, which is a science museum. For a few dollars extra you could walk around the museum and get drinks. One of the exhibits is a huge heart that you can walk through:

  • i went to a wedding at a zoo once...there was a cocktail hour in the shark house (very freaking 8-) ) and dinner was in a restaurant that had an outdoor deck and from there you could hear all the wild animals around the zoo making noises. The trolley would pick you up and drive you back to the parking lot for your car too.

It was very cool and kinda naughty feeling to be in a zoo at midnight, seperated from the reception and surronded by wild animals....

A Comedy Burlesque Circus Dinner Theater...or as they describe it:
Teatro ZinZanni's main event is part circus, part dinner theatre, and always magical. Described as "the Kit Kat Klub on acid" and "the hottest ticket in town" Teatro ZinZanni is a night out unlike any other.

    3½ hour five course dinner-tickets are $131-163/person
...and yes, it really is under a 'big top'
The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.
