Same here. Haven't shaved my goatee for 10+ years now. I think my chin would freak out if it were exposed to the sun.

Someday I'm just gonna let it go and grow a monster beard, like Sam Beam (Iron & Wine) or Alan Moore.
"You're no help," he told the lime. This was unfair. It was only a lime; there was nothing special about it at all. It was doing the best it could.

  • Turns out I can be pretty convincing when I want to be :D . I set up a team in our office and have convinced 9 of the lads I work with to grow moustaches for Movember. I thought it would just be a bit of fun and we'd get about £100 but we're only a week in and they've already raised over £200. There's plenty more to come too... on payday in November, we're gonna pass around the sponsorship form. Also, on another Friday we're gonna 'sell' fake moustaches for £1 each... then we'll take a group picture of the entire office and we're going to make the company newsletter in December

It really is great fun and the lads are getting really into it. If anybody would like to sponsor us, please drop me a message and I'll send you the link... it would be much appreciated. :D

Their response was that because PJ20 did not fall in the month of November it would contradict their "brand". They said they actually turn down lots of things because they don't fall in the month of November. It's not like they were rude about it or anything and they asked us to participate in Movember as well, but I was dumbfounded by the number of charities who didn't want our money. It took over 2 months before someone was willing to step up. Thankfully the CCFA wasn't so narrow minded and because of that they got about $600 from the mustachioed members of the 10C.

that is one of the dumbest things i've ever heard.

i wonder if the breast cancer would turn down a donation in may because it's not october...nope, don't think so.

Some of my coworkers and I are doing Movember this year. I always have facial hair, so the first few days are going to be weird having a clean shave.

Who else is doing it this year?

I've got to follow the rules. I emailed Movember trying to get permission to grow a Lemmy (since under their definition it's a beard). I got denied.

It's a pity to say goodbye to Rocktober.
  • Started growing the upper lip warmer today!

Had to shave off a beard I've been rocking since July, but it's for a good cause.
Believe me, when I was growin up, I thought the worst thing you could turn out to be was normal, So I say freaks in the most complementary way. Here's a song by a fellow freak - E.V

I've had some version of a beard or goatee for close to a decade. My face feels weird without anything. I can't wait until I get some facial hair back. As you said, it's for a good cause, so I made the sacrifice.
