brisbane 2 was fuckin good. 3rd row centre, crowd overall not as enthusiastic as night 1, but that is to be expected without the fanclub. im here getting ready for melbourne 1, as pumped as ever, but still recovering from the brisbane stretch! the tour so far blows 2003 out of the water.
awesome mate just awesome the boys have been on fire this year good to see it continuing iin Australia.... enjoy the shows Judd only a week till i get my 2nd fix of the year.
I'm just flying around the other side of the world to say I love you

I'm just listening to my MP3 boot of Saturday night (just getting to Gone as I type) Wow, Small Town on the offical boot is going to be awesome, the crowd sang along from start to finish.
(Don't bother asking me for copies of the MP3 boot, the bass distorted it pretty badly), buy the offical boot because it's one worth keeping. (just getting onto Wishlist now, once again the crowd is giving it all they've got)
What a night. I was planning on doing Friday night as well but all I could get was a view from Mount Everest so I thought I'd wait until Saturday where I had prime seats, (second floor section centre/mikes side). I'm a little pissed now that I missed Friday night because it sounds like they had a top setlist too, (would have loved to hear RITFW).
My first ever Pearl Jam experience. Was **itting myself after I saw the setlist from friday, but they pulled out another awesome setlist... a little rearviewmirror would have capped off an already perfect evening in my books, but you can't have everything.
I was 8th row of the floor, Stone's side, rocking my ass off. To those people who said we sat down during the encore breaks, we were still clapping and cheering like crazy, just on our asses (not like they could see us anyway). We did see a few people sitting down for the whole concert, and we knew the band hadn't really liked Sydney, so we felt the need to ROCK extra hard to make up for it. Believe me, the atmosphere down there was electrifying.
The 2 nights were awesome, the set list for night 2 was particularly awesome - but could have been even better. I got a copy of the original set list and have al lthe crossed out songs that the band made changes to during the encore breaks. We missed Inside Job, Comeback and Baba!

I would rather have Kick out the jams over Baba everyday of the week, that fucking song killed, it was awesome, Ed was so intense during it.
And i guess they scrapped inside job to keep up the intensity of that second encore, it would have been a little weird to come out and play inside job and then go into Why Go, Blood, and Comatose ect.
but yeah it would have been nice to hear come back and inside job
I was in row AL on mike's side... are you referring to the girl that kept standing on the seat, with the crazy wild curly hair, in the pink dress?? (how's that for memory?) I was directly behind her, and screaming and dancing and clapping and cheering.! *and helping to start the wave. So i know the people you are talking about just sitting down in front of you! A girl in front of me pretty much filmed the whole thing on her phone too... but she only filmed the big screen, not the actual stage. Why don't you just watch a DVD.?
anyways glad you enjoyed the show as much as me by the sounds of it... How cool is Mike?!! i'm so happy i was on his side.... I was lucky enough to catch stone front row when i saw Brad tour so it was nice to see mike, in all his saluting, pointing and twirling glory!
The band really are rocking very hard these days. Mike and Eddie are SO into it. Matt belts the frick out of the drums and Stone and Jeff, well their Stone and Jeff! They played a lot of heavy songs with passion and conviction.
I've been a fan since 1991 and I think the last two years have been the best live years of their career. All the boots sound amazing.
I saw them two nights this time. May have to travel to Sydney and Melbourne next time.
It was a fantastic night!! Was a bit disappointing that I couldn't see the band though - I was too short - we were on the floor but in the back section on Stone's side but the screens were great. Stood on my seat a few times though. We were going crazy all night so even though they couldn't actaully see us - they woulda seen our arms in the air the whole night!! Bludy fantastic!!!
"There's no wrong or right but I'm sure there's good & bad"
Well that was a great concert. You have to admire the band for not playing the same setlist every show or just playing their hits.
Having said that it would have been good to hear Jeremy, Black, Hail Hail, NAIS or Light Years, Last Kiss, I am Mine, Spin the black Circle, Nothingman, Tremor Christ & Given To Fly.
Anyone else feel a bit let down they skipped some of their massive hits?
And no, I don't feel let down at all, more the opposite in fact. I'm still on a high from Saturday night. I loved the way they kicked off from Severed Hand into Corduroy, I thought Not for You was incredible, Porch, Kick out the Jams, and talking about massive hits Do The Evolution, Betterman, Daughter, Alive, Evenflow, you were asking about massive hits?
Shit, not one fan is going to get their dream setlist, that's for sure, but we got 28 awsomely played songs. There wasn't one song that didn't floor me during the night.
Nothing as it Seems is one of my favourites, yet if you were going to ask me what song I would have swapped from Saturday Night to hear it, I wouldn't be able to choose one.

Yes my mistake, they did play given to fly.
Don't get me wrong i loved the concert it rocked out, I thought Do the Evoultion sounded particulary great played live. As it was my first PJ concert i would have liked to hear more of their singles from bygone era's but i concede not everyone feels the same. Especially the fans that have gone to see them here in 95, 98 & 03. I'm sure they don't want to see the same setlist every time. so you have to admire the band for playing to the true fans and giving them something different everytime. I respect that.

I'm sure it's not just for the fans, i think the band would get sick of playing the same songs night after night. so they mix it up to keep themselves motivated and fresh. and when you have such a large back catalog of songs, why the hell not play a variety of songs.
So many times now I have missed PJ whenever they were playing nearby (well, within 2000km)- that I recently vowed to make the journey next chance I got. This time I didn't miss them and it was worth every cent and then some...
Wasn't meant to be at the second show- picked up a single seat (Actually a better seat despite only 19 seats left) after going with friends and family to the first night. I think I almost liked going by myself more then going in a group- or maybe I had just drunk more?
Anyway, highlights for me were definately Blood, Save You, and everything off the new self titled. All the amazing comments I have read about pearl jam live all made sense at those two conerts.
I was sitting next to a Calafornia lady who had been to a ridiculous 122? or so shows. Suffice to say that she planted a very dangerous seed in my mind... I have spent seven months traveling the US as a dirt bag climber, so why not as a dirt bag PJ fan?
I travelled from South Africa to Brisbane for the concerts. While I thought both shows were great, Saturday 11 Nov was mind blowing, awesome and unforgettable! Everyone was spot on and Eddie was really pumping as he was away from his wife for the first time ever on her b'day. I thought Save you, Insignificance, Crazy Mary and Comatose were just awaesome-as well as You are. Ubelievably unforgettable! Love them even more now!

I posted my Bris2 moments in the Bris 1 thread.
Please have a read if your pissd at the dodgy promoters that give out good seats to non-belivers.
