Making pot pies for dinner. (One with a crust and one without.)

Is it really a pot pie if it's got no crust?

watching weather and traffic channel, prepping for a busy day at work. No lunch break today so rummaging in fridge for some leftovers....I curbed my eating lunches out ever since I heard the PJ tour rumor...lol. $10 here and there will help!

For everyone shocked at the lack of crust, my husband can't have it. It makes him so very ill. Baking it in a crust and carving the insides out doesn't work. Believe me, we've tried.

Is it a pot pie without the crust? To him it is. In actuality, it probably is considered to be more of a chicken version of Shepherd's Pie. Shhh. Don't tell him that. He felt good because I made an alternate item that he could have. (I knew he could have the inside loveliness.) Just like an allergy kid at a picnic, he was just happy that he could get some. He loves pot pie, it just doesn't love him. We altered that. There was some homemade, browned mashed potatoes on the top of his, but the rest of the filling was all the same.

We ended up having enough chicken pot pie to have for three dinners and a lunch. It's that crazy time of year with my decorating at work, so if I can work out a multi-day meal, I do it. Otherwise, I would have been happy to share. I invited SD for Chicken Corn Chowder last week AND for Chicken Pot Pie. She still hasn't made it yet. She said she was coming . . . ;)

Watching Crazy Ex Girlfriend on Hulu and listening to Soundgarden on Spotify. CEG is filmed minutes west of me in West Covina. Nice to see that they actually film in it's location unlike some shows that just film in L.A.. *cough*The OC*cough*
