    Fantasy team?

on the Red Mosquito board there's a fantasy competition where you try to pic what songs will be played each show and a couple other things.

    Fantasy team?

red mosquite board. pick 5 songs per night, as well as an opener, cinderella (rare song - light years was a cindy) and album bonus (e.g 2 songs off binaural tonight). damn good fun :)

after the annoying mosh and crowdsurf in Katowice I was a little bit afraid of getting crushed in the sea of people...but finally it was quite easy to get to the front at the right (thanx to Linkin Park and Marilyn Manson!!!:D) after the last supporting act! I am really happy I had my little space in peace at the front and noone annoyed me plus my friends were standing next to me!!! Can't believe how damned lucky we were!
Thanx to the organisers for not allowing crowdsurf which made the show safe and enjoyable (compared to Poland)!

Better Man was a fantastic intro although people were not singing that really loud:( Anyway, Eddie was in top form, his voice sounded to me even more fantastic than in Poland (which must be hard to believe I know:o)!!! The show itself was amazingly fast and intensive (Go, Save You, Blood, Do The Evolution, Even Flow, Given To Fly, Rearviewmirror etc), they rocked pretty hard, we were jumping up and down during the majority of the songs!

Greatest moments for me were Light Years, MFC and especially Blood (waited so long for these) 'cos that was the first time I managed to hear their live versions...and oh my God, I was mesmerized by those masterpieces!

Eddie greeted the crowd in German and he stated he is not good in that at all but his German is still at least as great as George Bush's English (when he tries to use that):D! Small Town remembered all those nice times in Austria (especially 2006 Vienna)
Later on Ed mentionned the previuos night in Venice (just like Linkin Park) and it turned out in Austria there were many issues with somebody's equipment (concerning to my ears it must have been Jeff's) because of that bloody storm ... after this apology Eddie told us the crew managed to fix that...and the sound was fabulous after that indeed!!! By the way microphones were not working properly at the end of Betterman 'cos it was impossible to hear Ed's voice in the last one minute!

Ed greeted our little group once when he came to the right speakers and during RITFW he jumped down from the stage to the middlefront section where he shook hands of fans!!!

If I try to remember the differences between Nova Rock and other PJ shows I've been to then I must say improvisation got a real main role in Nickelsdorf yesterday...all the members (even Jeff) tried to give us the best spontanious versions of the songs and all of them played awesome... and for me this fact made the set even more unforgettable!

So neither the cold light rain nor the short set could prevent us from having a fantastic time with Pearl Jam!!! Thanx to the guys AGAIN!!!

nice review, makes me looking forward to southside!

  • Just a bit rant before actually writing about the PJ-concert: Am I that spoiled from lovely people around me at gigs, or were big parts of those 30secondstomars/linkin park-fans just the most annoying and ignorant people ever? I don't know how people can do everything to spoil someone else's gig, really. :(

Never mind, PJ afterwards made everything up anyways. I stood right at the wavebreaker that parted the audience in halves (dunno the correct name), exactly the place I wanted to have! The beginning with Betterman was just totally crazy, great - made me feel like shedding tears right at the very first song.
The setlist was darn great, Rockin In The Free World as last song kicked arse!
Still no Wishlist for me though, I wonder if I'll ever get to hear it...
Was a bit unsatisfied by the more or less abrupt ending, they should've saved the fireworks-money for summit else and have let them play longer.

Anyone else noticed that PJ were not on the official Novarock-shirts???

Seeing those T-shirts we were surprised and afraid PJ won't attend Nova Rock in spite of the confirmed facts...but Thank God we were wrong...but still have no clue why they were ignored by the T-shirt makers!!!

By the way Friday and Saturday performers on main stage at Nova Rock were great this year!!! The Hives, Incubus, Smashing Pumpkins, 30 seconds To Mars, Linkin Park and finally/especially Pearl Jam were all damn incredible! Hopefully Rage Against The Machine, Metallica, Muse, Garbage, Foo Fighters etc will make also next year unforgettable!

Did anybody notice that there were 2 Microphones for the Crowd? So that makes me wonder why there will be no bootlegs, when they have microphones for the crowd
