Ive never met anyone who has won a contest, or sweepstakes, or lottery. Have you? back in 1999, i won a computer from the Blair Witch Project sweepstakes, but i wasnt 18, and the contest said you had to be to claim the prize so my parents wouldnt let me claim it.

Sure ive met people who've won 100 dollars on a scratch off lottery thing, or 500 dollars at some casino or something, but never met anyone who has won a trip to Hawaii or Disneyland, or won 500,000 dollars or a million or something like that.

When I was six I won a bank coloring contest. I won a little lavender sony boombox. I called it my ghetto blaster and used to walk around my New Jersey neighborhood holding it up to my ear listening to cassette singles of New Edition, Phil Collins, Madonna and We Are the World. Funny how things haven't changed much. I still rock that We Are the World cassette single. It is one of my prized possessions.

My sister-in-law won a trip to Cancun last year. She took her daughter with (it would have been MUCH cooler if she had taken me!!). She won it in a 5K race she was in, some kind of random lottery drawing I think. They had stipulations that they had to go by the end of the year and it was only 3 nights, but hey better than nothing right?!

The most I won on a scratch off was $100.

My sister won a trip to California to see the Who and I got to go too, so that was WAY COOL. :D

Year 2003...i won "Party plane to a pro game" trip for 2 to minneapolis to see the Steelers/Vikings....For shits and gigles decides to call the radio that day...was the 92nd caller...then got my name pulled from a hat of 5 people...thought for sure it'd be corrupt...but listening to the local radio guys pull out a number, then my cell phone rang immediatly...And wow...shit does happen!!! people do win....never really called that often and definatly never called the radio again, figuring the odds would be astronomical...Wife and I had a great time...

Oh shit! I just remembered... when I was in high school I won two tickets to see Jamie Walters at Kings Island amusement park (Jamie Walters of "How Do You Talk To an Angel" fame. He was also on the show The Heights and played Donna Martin's abusive boyfriend on 90210). The tickets to the show were free, but we still had to pay admission to the park for the day. hahahaha ...The concert was nothing short of hilarious. But I was also drunk on Boones.

When I was in my early teens I won a trip to Miami, FL, beach front hotel accomodations included. I had clipped out and sent in some form for something or other from a magazine just to see what would be sent back to me. I didn't even realize I was entering a contest! My father worked for a major airline so our whole family of five went. After we got settled into the hotel room- a very bland place with absolutely no character- my folks were dragged into a property sales pitch meeting that was a manditory inclusion in the fine print of accepting the winnings. They were not too happy about that. It cost them a couple hours of high pressure sales verging on harrassment. To top it off, the hotel's "beach front" was a crummy little stretch of fenced off sand on the water that was much like an overcrowded swimming pool and the view up and down the street in front of the hotel was a curving street lined with more dumpy tourist hotels. Not a great introduction to Miami!

I won about $700 in concert tix from the radio station in one year.

    Won a $300 gift certificate to Cabela's.

I just can't seem to win more than $25 from the lottery.

When my wife and I flew Wisconsin in Sept our flight was delayed and then cancelled (we were late and missed it anyway) after the airline sorted it all out and reinstated the flight they gave everyone on the flight 2 round trip tickets each, to any where in the Continental U.S. .... That's as close to winning big as I've ever been.

I've never won anything! I know some people who are just flat-ass lucky and it pisses me off.
Know a dude who in ONE year won $500 of a scratch ticket (he never plays), won a raffle at work and got a 50" flatscreen, went to some local casino and won $2500 of his second pull on quarter slots...and won some Bud Light contest which him and 3 friends got to go to the Superbowl.
That's not the end of it, but that was all in one f'n year!

I wish I could have a fraction of the luck that dude has!

I have never heard of a scratch off that lets you win 2 million dollars.
  • Most of my family plays the pick 4 everyday and have for years. They play my grandma's birthday. They told me a few years ago that I should start playing. They said they usually hit a couple times a year and if it comes in straight it would be $2700. So I start playing and it's been almost 3 years and it has not come in once. Now can't stop because once I do you know it will come in. That's how my luck is :)

We had a scratch off that was called Lucky For Life...$1000/week for the rest of your life. Live long enough, and I'm sure you could get $2M.

my uncle has gotten 5 out of 6 lottery numbers TWICE! ...

sadly ... 5 out of 6 only gets you in the $1,800 range ... which is obviously great but 6 out of 6 is like $3 million or whatever the jackpot is ...

i've gotten 4 numbers a couple of times and that's a few hundred bucks ...

I've won a lot of radio prizes, including: Audioslave's first album before it was released, Beck tix, tix to a midnight showing of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (woo!) and the best prize of all...PJ TIX :!: That blew my mind. What are the odds of winning tickets to see your favorite band? Amazing. Most were won by "stump the DJ" stuff.

My grandparents win stuff all the time. They won a couple grand in the small lotto when my mom was a kid. More recently they won a couple of those gaming tables that have foosball and air hockey and all that (one of which is currently gracing my basement) and a 50" 3D flatscreen TV (also gracing my basement :D ) Some people are just super lucky!

Oh of course. I forgot I live in Wisconsin. We have the shittiest payouts here. I think the most you can get is 250K... That's the top prize. Not that I would be complaining if I won it.

Won PJ lottery twice, both front row.
Otherwise, I've never won anything ever! Although, people told me I won the lottery when my daughter was born and she has Down syndrome. The chance of that happening is 1 in 250. The doctors told me I won the lottery when they saved my life after almost dying on the operating table after a bad car accident. Does that count??

I've won concert tickets twice, both this year actually. In August I won tickets to the Identity Festival which is an electronic/techno/dubstep festival. Ended up not being able to go. Don't think I missed out TOO too much  Also won tickets last month to see Ray LaMontagne in MD which was so awesome!! Best part of that was being able to take a new friend to see her favorite artist for free; my friend who I took has loved Ray for like 6 years and had never seen him live, she was beside herself when I asked her to come with me! I couldn't imagine if a friend came up to me and was like 'Just won great seats for Pearl Jam for free, come with!' So seeing her so happy was pretty awesome!
