  • Gold On the Ceiling, Little Black Submarines, and Sister are my early favs. Very accessible album, definitely a cleaner production than their eariler albums, but honestly who wasn't expecting that? Still though, a great album so far....this one's all about the groooooooooove. These guys really are on a serious roll.

The first half of this album is just killer. As has been stated Gold on the Ceiling and Little Black Submarines are huge! If a band made a whole album of songs that sounded like the second half of Little Black Submarines they would be my new favorite band.

I'll never love the Keys, but I find most of their stuff I've heard very listenable, and I love Brothers. New one isn't doin much for me. Little Black Submarine is the obvious standout. Several of the rest of the tunes I get a "wasn't this song already on here" feeling.

    WOW!

I just blasted this album twice in my car. Best. Driving. Album. Ever

I am floored. I wasnt expecting much considering I didnt really like the mainstream route they're kinda taking, and even on first listen I wasnt amazed.

BUT.... all it took was a great drive in my car with the volume knob up blasting those speakers and I was amazed. This is the best driving album, honestly. There isnt a single dull moment for the entire 38 minutes.

Good call. I want this ASAP. :D

Well judging by their schedule it would most likely be in the spring for a US tour.

    That works for me!

Man, I know The Black Keys are more popular these days, but I am surprised they have been booked to play such big venues. Even with The Arctic Monkey's opening I think it will be hard for them to sell some out.

All for the CCCC show in Portland though. GA...sweet!

Did you go see them in Indy last year too? I thought I remembered you posting that you did. I thought the same thing of that show. Not sure that I want to see them at Conseco. I really like a lot of their songs but the live show was just missing something for me.

Does anyone have any idea what the asterisks next to select venues indicate?

The United Center (Chicago) is denoted this way. I thought it might mean the venue is more "subject to change" than usual...

Last year, they played the Aragon for 3 nights. The UC would have a completely different feel, obviously.

I've heard really good things about Arctic Monkeys, so for me, the pairing should make it worth the money. Tickets look a bit steep.

While some say there is a Led Zep feel on Little Black Submarines... I get more of a RHCP in the vocal delivery with Tom Petty kicking in on the guitar blast in the middle. Great song, but I hear more prevalence toward those influences than Zeppelin. Looking forward to getting my copy on Tuesday.
If there were no Angels would there be no sin?
  • With The White Stripes gone these guys are carrying the torch for the simplistic bluesy-garage rock that we all love to hear! What I love is that these guys are able to take relatively simple riffs and song ideas and make them into something special.

And as states before. this album GROOVES! So far Sold On The Ceiling, Lonely Boy, and Little Black Submarines are my favorites

Looking forward to purchasing a hard copy of this :)

Saw them live in Milwaukee this summer... Really looking forward to seeing them again soon!

This is hands down my most anticipated album of the year. So happy to hear all the positive vibes about it!!! Anyone know where I cam get this album? I am not too sure where great music can be found!

The five songs I have heard are so good. I can't believe they have grown to these huge venues. I saw them at the sold out chelsea ballroom show in Vegas and then here in Milwaukee this summer. So incredible. I am still in awe at how they have exploded. I knew it was coming right before Brothers came out.

Id say little black submarine is their version of stairway to heaven. only less epic and much shorter. I did get a tom petty feel from the riff though as well. It sounds similar to mary janes last dance.
