I was at the show in Vancouver and it definately kicked ass. My wife and I had floor tickets, but with the walkway through the middle of the floor, the people density was really high. We then saw that the seats they sold beside the stage abrupty stop, then empty seats next over. So before FF hit the stage we went and sat about 10 rows up beside the stage, which was a great view. Most concerts I go to I'm on the floor, but I often forget I'm 6'2, so its not always enjoyable for shorter people
Sitting 10 rows up though, it was a really cool awesome view. The Foos rocked it out for 2.4 hours.
This was my 4th Foo Fighters show. The first in 11 years. The 2nd time I'd seen them headlining their own show. The Edgefest '98 show and opening for the peppers in '00 don't stick in my mind nearly as much as when I saw them the first time. That would of been a small venue called the UBC student rec centre in '97. That show was pretty epic (so I don't agree with Dave joking that they used to be bad.. lol). What this years vancouver show demonstrated to me, was how much they've grown as a band since I'd seen those shows earlier in their career.
The other thing I keep wondering is aabout the 11pm noise curfew in Vancouver. Pearl Jam played 'til 11:30 last month, and the foos until 11:40. I've been seeing shows in vancouver for 20 years, and I'd never seen bands break it by more then 10 or 15 minutes. A curfew is so antirock.. lol. I guess bands who play long sets are willing to pay the fine and I appreciate it
