Immagine in Cornice?

Live at the Garden?

Traveling Band?

For my $ worth I really enjoy Immagine in Cornice because of the cinematic feel, behind the scenes looks, and absolute rocking songs.

What say you?

Being I was at Live at the Garden it's hard not to go with that. Though of their DVDs I like SVT the best!

It's a close call between Garden and Immagine for me. I'll go ahead and give it to Live at the Garden though...it's longer, a complete show, and has some cool bonus featuers. I really like the production of Immagine though.

TB2000 is the best, and if you only buy 1 DVD, this is it.

The Garden is the best sounding.
Showbox also sounds about the same.
The band sound too subdued on these shows, but they are still awesome. The sound quality is just about perfect and just a notch above TB2000, if only the performances were more energetic.

Immagine in Cornice is the worst musically, and is the worst sounding too. It's pretty cool as a movie, they do some nice stuff with the fans that is probably not possible with the rabid crowds in the US. Not essential.

    TOURING BAND ALL THE WAY!
  • I'd rank them this way:

    1) Immagine in Cornice
    2) Live at the Garden
    3) Touring Band

I don't think it's a coincidence that the band has gotten significantly better as a live band over the past decade, and the live DVDs have as well. Ed's voice is pitchy on the Garden, even though it's a classic, complete show. The energy is actually quite subdued on many of the '00 boots and it shows on the DVD. Immagine, while featuring fewer songs and a couple of edits that annoy me (Better Man especially), is full of brilliant, brilliant moments and is always the first DVD I show to the uninitiated.
I am lost, I'm no guide, but I'm by your side.
I am right by your side.

I love Immagine in Cornice. It's beautifully shot and I love all the behind the scenes footage. After seeing the footage of Release, Let Me Sleep, Faithful soundcheck, and other clips from the PJ20 film that were culled from that tour, I'd love to see an expanded release of that DVD with extra footage because they filmed everything in Italy!

IMAGINE IN CORNICE is a nice film, but the actual music setlist is short and pathetic.

Don't forget about Ed and Mike playing "Lukin" at the top of the steps! amazing, I LOVE the look on Mike's face when he realizes the riff Eddie is playing. Magic.

If you want it to seem like you're actually at a PJ concert, TB2000.
I find myself watching Immagine more simply because there's little snippets with the band members talking in between, and I like that.

agreed. imagine's set is incredibly basic, but it is pretty awesome to see the band hang out and on the bus and what not.

touring band has an incredible set list and i think has close to 30 songs. the extras are great too with the european montage and the smile clip.

Immagine in Cornice has one nice moment that made me laugh ... Eddie falling and hurting himself during 'Alive'.

Considering the crazy shit he used to do in the early years and come out unscathed, it was funny to see him fall from barely a 5 feet jump.

Worthy contender, no doubt. I'll probably have to watch it a few times before I pass judgement compared to TB2000.
