I'd make fun of the Cubs. And give him a 2005 White Sox World Series mini-trophy.

...music, words and sound exist and the musician is just a medium that brings it to life...

all these words alone, nothing like a poem...

i'd try to get him to quit smoking so i can watch him perform into his 100s

    Tell him thank you.

Then ask him to open a show with Baba O'Riley.
    "Mark it 20, Dude."

Anyone else think this is the type of thing Ed would run in the complete opposite direction from? I just think he's probably really uncomfortable with the whole idea that there are people who desperately want to spend 10 minutes with him.

Me? I'd probably shake his hand, ask for a picture with him, and then spend 10 minutes telling him that I might look crazy but I'm really not, ala Kramer and Fred Savage.

    thumbsup_kramersunglasses.jpg:lol::lol::lol:

Oh and I'd probably try to explain to him about the many jokes that my wife and I have about the band. The joke involving Ed is that Stone and Mike secretly get annoyed when Ed wants to play guitar live, so to appease him, they give Ed a guitar that's not plugged in or in tune or anything and tell him "yeah its plugged in and ready to go Ed...wail away," just to shut him up. At your next PJ show, when you see Ed playing guitar, imagine that scenario (that's he really jamming on a guitar that's not plugged in and perhaps stringless and everyone in the band knows this but Ed, who thinks he's really rocking along); trust me, you'll have a hard time not laughing really, really hard.

Grab a drink and thank him for all his music and his passion for the first 5 mins.

Then ask him about Dave A for the other 5 mins (after he's in a good mood).

If I typed what I really wanted to do it would have to be censored :P

But I suppose I'd just chat about current affairs and then try to convince him to move to Australia. :)

Now I would be tempted to tell him about the hilariously bad dream I had the other night involving one of his bandmates. It would probably be good for a laugh.

I think all of us ladies are creative enough to know how to get a good outcome from those allotted 10 minutes

I had 10 minutes with Ed backstage at a Sleater-Kinney concert. Well, maybe about 6 minutes. It was cool to meet him. Chatted about the show and Portland. Nothing special. Just small talk. Didn't even tell him I was a big fan. No regrets. Good guy. Shorter than I realized. But sincere and friendly.

I had less than five minutes with him and it was the best moment I could have imagined...ever. I thanked him for the music and inspiration while he was looking down and signing a few autographs. When I spoke, he looked up at me (standing directly in front of him), thanked me, did a double take look at me, then looked back at the playbill he was finishing writing on. When he finished, he looked back up at me, handed me back my playbill, and told me I was beautiful. No shit!!

My husband will never let me live that one down, and to this day, 3 years later, hates it when I tell that story. (he's jealous it didn't happen to him!) ;)

oh man, i have to keep this clean??

okay, well then i'd love to share some wine with him. i'd say 'thank you' and then just let him talk. for two reasons basically:

1-i think i'd forget how to speak if i was near Eddie...plus my brain would turn to mush.
2-he tells great stories and i'd love hear one, just for me... :D
love is all good people need....and music sets the sick ones free...
