6th month UPDATE - Some Happy News - Update on our LONG ROAD

I have not posted the lowdown about my son because...well....this is my ''escape place" and didn't want to share sad news. BUT today is the beginning of the rest of our lives as my son has KICKED CANCERS BUTT and ended his treatment officially today!!!!! :D:D:D

He has had two years of chemo and radiation for leukemia....he is now going to sleep without me ever having to wake him up for his night time chemo again!

I am sharing this because I like to share good news with friends....I have made many friends on this board and want to thank you all for your support.
See end of post!

Happy Day :D

Just...finally updated Sammy's blog: http://supermansammyz.blogspot.com/2011/10/were-done.html
Felt Long Road was most fitting...it reduces me to tears every time I hear it! (Happy tears now)

UPDATE---We are now six months post treatment and Sammy looks like he used to before cancer! He's running again and loving life. Last Easter he was too sick to move...this year he's run around so much I can't keep up! :D:D:D

Congrats! This marks a new beginning for a wonderful life for him! :D
The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.

Fan Friggin Tastic! I hate cancer! Congrats on the absolutely wonderful news. I doubt I'm one of the friends you're thinking of on the board..(I hardly ever post), but my heart grew a size reading your news. I have a 2 year old boy that's absolutely melted my wifes and I's hearts(his name is stone!) and I fear every day for things that every parent I'm sure fears may happen. Congrats again!

JM4830 - try not to fear every day...shit happens but not often. I have learned one thing from this....just enjoy your kids. They will get cuts and bruises, stitches even...cancer is still rare in kids...but you will always be there to hug them better and teach them how to cope with it...all part of life..enjoy it xxxx

Katy, I know I only met you briefly in Hartford before the EV solo show last summer and you don't know me really at all, but I am all smiles hearing this news. :D:D:D:D

I had a really shitty day today for real, but it's news like this that makes me realize that there are so many more important things in life. Other people deal with stuff a million times more stressful as you have done over the last few years than any of us could ever imagine. Thank you for putting it in perspective and enjoy the great days which lie ahead. :D
