statistically, you have a 0.016% chance of getting a signed copy (8/500).

wouldn't it be 1.6% of the people....

Got the cd at Alpine Valley. Question is do I spend another 150.00 hoping I get one of the eight signed by the band. Not knowing how many they are selling this go round I think I shall refrain. First 500 get free cd, how many more deluxe box sets after the 500. It could be 8 in 10,000 which are really lousy odds. Besides I ordered two when they first started selling them.

Wouldnt it mean 8 out of the 500 will be signed..

I'm bummed, because if I want that CD, I'd have to pay another $150 for ANOTHER box set. Anyone else feel that early purchasers should be included in this? Like, they could ship us a CD as well.
    Thoughts?

    Here's an idea..
Buy ANOTHER box set so you can get the Moore CD (hopefully you get lucky and it has peoples names scribbled on it) then, Have a nice little contest and give the box set away to a board member.. You can send me the Orpheum vinyl for giving you such a great idea if you like... :D

I'm sure we all feel that way. However the band sure as hell doesn't. They just want money at this point it seems.

And you just want stuff. Sounds like a perfectly symbiotic relationship.

You and people just like you are a huge reason WHY THIS PLACE IS INTOLERABLE lately.

You said it, man. If anyone wants proof that we're not these evolved, loving creatures that our ego tells us we are, see what becomes of any message board/forum. This is supposed to be a place to discuss a band that we all ostensibly love. We're apes and our DNA ain't changing anytime soon.

E.V.“You fucking cocksuckers. [shakes head] You fucking bitch! You know, we come up here as a collective band and we give and we give and you just fucking want more … and you know what? You deserve it. This is like some kind of organized religion here; I’ve never seen anything like it. Do you see what’s happening? … the third night in a row, right? [applause] Well, fuck you. We’re gonna play it!”

Things go on sale, are discounted, are marked down for clearance all the time. A freebie promotion like this is just another way to move older products. There is nothing wrong with this practice. When you buy early you always run the risk that something will be marked down later on. Such is life.

That said, I do think 10C's performance this year has created a situation where many, many members feel burned. When people are upset they lash out and overreact. I think we are seeing some of that this time around.

Much like a $70 Blu-Ray, a $150 box set is not something I will be buying regardless of what is tossed in or shipped for free. Vote with your wallets people.

Its just like when the Ames Bro book was marketed to include the limited print. They needed to get rid of stock. I ordered the super deluxe VS/Vitalogy right away, but understand they are trying to free up space in the warehouse.

It would be cool if the CD was sent to those who already bought it, but I am not going to lose sleep over it. After all, it is just another live show and I have plenty of those already.

I haven't ordered this set and don't plan to, but what I find funny about the entire thing is that for the past week people have been saying we have to hurry up and order limited items as soon as they are on sale (such as the blu ray/dvd sets), but in this case the people who waited got a better deal. The timing of this offer just seems off after what this board has been through in the last week...

I think 10 club should have been transparent about how many box sets they had if they were that limited.

I'm not pissed at all, except I think they need to offer more incentive. I bought the Vs/Vitalogy box set when it came out, so I have nothing to gain except the sooner we empty those goddamn shelves the sooner they can be filled with No Code/Yield. Get buying fence sitters.

I don't care about the potential autographs, but I am feeling kind of like I'm being penalized lately. "Sorry, guys, that I live 20 miles from the PJ20 venue so I don't need a travel package," and "sorry I preordered the Vs./Vitalogy set." So frustrating. ALL I WANT IS TO PURCHASE VAULT #1 FROM YOU, BUT YOU ARE MAKING THIS QUITE DIFFICULT!

Not sure how you are beaing penelized if you already have the vs./vitalogy set. I mean it sounds like the ones that went onsale yesterday went super fast, so a bunch of people who waited and tried to buy it now didn't get anything. Buy comparison you have had, and been able to enjoy your set for awhile now.

It IS frustrating.... but what are the options?

This tactic will only hurt 10c because people may wait to buy hoping that they will get it for a discount (and possibly forget to buy). Or wait because maybe they'll get free extras. Or wait and possibly get it signed by all current band members. Or wait and maybe they'll get all of the above, like in this case. But, they're a retailer looking to earn a solid profit, so if you wait until december, you also will be getting the Ginzu kitchen kife set and a Snuggie.

If you wait to buy, it could sell out on you because they may only have made 75 of them or something equally silly.

So, what's a boy to do?

The 10c organization has been run with carte blanche, and not really under the band's control anymore, by design, so it's not worth complaining about. The band used to micro-manage everything in the early years, then hired a friend of a band member to run it almost 1.5 decades ago, and the band has been seemingly hands-off ever since. I don't think the band is worried about losing 10c members, so without that incentive, there's no reason for them to worry about anything, and certainly no point in complaining. It is what it is.

...but it would be cool if they offered that PJ20 "exclusive" cd for purchase on their website separately.

I'm sure we all feel that way. However the band sure as hell doesn't. They just want money at this point it seems.

Why else would they push this box set on the fans again?

and if they don't sell something, people bitch...and when they do sell something new (zombie shirt) they bitch.

if they make to many and create a deal to clear stock, they bitch...if they make something limited, they bitch.

it's gotta be a bitch to be in their shoes.

i feel bad for them....it's like no matter what they do, they lose.

Screw the 20% off coupon. I want the free Snuggie and one of those knives that cuts thru a tin can then a tomato instead. I mean, while we're "wheelin' and dealin'", lets do it right!

...though if the VS & Vitalogy box sets were guaranteed to be signed by Dave Abbruzzese, then I'd buy another one just for that.
