Not sure if you're a Maynard fan but I'm liking the new album.

There you go. "Conditions of My Parole" in its entirety if you're interested.

Yeah it would be nice. I think the next one will be their last.

Yeah Maynard doesn't seem too interested in it. His loves are Puscifer and wine.

I'm not so sure. I think the last tour was for the money. He seemed irritated to be in St. Paul though he's never really liked people that much.

  • This is sounding really good.

It's not as far away from Tool and APC as some of the songs on his last record, which is kind of surprising.

On a side note, it would have been awesome if Maynard had chosen a better name for his solo project. He makes some excellent music, but somehow calling it "Puscifer" just seems kind of dumb. It makes it sound like something not to be taken seriously. Maybe that's the idea...

Ok - so it's a joke that goes back a ways. That makes more sense :)

Hard to say. Out of all of his musical endeavors, Maynard has been quoted as saying something along the lines of: "Tool will make music until one of us dies"

But, with him... it could've been very tongue-in-cheek.

He's a big talker when he does talk. His idea of making music together could be getting together to jam.

True. He definitely enjoys being cryptic.

  • Listening to the new Puscifer now, so far so good.

I would much rather have a new TOOL album, but whatever.

    loving the new puscifer

re: tool - maynard has said (i think in the wine documentary) that it's too hard on his voice to tour with tool. probably have a lot more APC and puscifer in the future, maybe not so much tool.

You're right he did say that in Blood into Wine. My guess is he won't do too much more Perfect Circle either. Maybe one more album. I think he's more interested in wine and Puscifer. Kind of his retirement...
  • As long as we get one more Tool album, then I'm cool with it. It's pretty obvious that he's not that into it anymore, but I would just like to know going into it that it's the last one. But, if it's not I think 10,000 Days was a damn great album and if that's their swan song then so be it.

Digging this way more than the first record. Way more. Just picked up tickets for the Boston show and feeling really good about it.

Good choice. The album is more serious and mature. The other one was silly but I still loved it.

He loves being front and center with these guys, contrary to Tool. And yes, I know he stands in back during Tool shows because it's all about the musicians and music, and scenery with them, but damn, the Puscifer musicians and music are / is pretty damn good, too. This album is definitely more serious and musical than the 1st. Good stuff on Letterman:

Yeah that was a great performance. I also posted that video... He stands in back for APC as well. Maybe he does this as a way of saying, "I'm NOT Tool, I'm NOT APC, but I AM Puscifer." Who knows... The man is a mystery to me. He is one of my Heroes that I would never want to meet.

Nope :-( The closest stop to me is a 4 hour drive away. I just can't afford a rock n roll road trip right now.

Just now listening to the album in FLAC. Really, really good. More like APC than old Puscifer, if you ask me. Anyways, it's great - "Telling Ghosts" is amazing.

As far as Tool - they're par for the course on releasing albums every 5 years or so. They're due for one next year, and Adam and Danny are writing music as we speak. Tool is all of the members' moneymaker - and honestly, they all love that type of music, let alone playing it. They'll be releasing albums for another decade or so - 2 or 3 more at the most. Maynard's vineyard doesn't make him much dough.

How do you know any of that? Maynard is a Multimillionaire and I doubt he's making wine for the money.
