This springs to mind, if this doesn't get you dancing then you have no soul!!

  • I should probably clarify, I meant 'lose it' like cry or become emotional.

Ok then, I'll go with this, one of the saddest and most poignant songs you'll ever hear, released just before his death (an OD of muscle relaxants) on Christmas day 2009.

  • Stupid Last Kiss!

I know it's LAME, I know it's a cover, I don't even really like it (probably because of the effect it has on me)... But the story... I can't help imagining the situation... Having your love dying in your arms, kissing him/her for the last time... BAH... I heard the original version and it affects me a bit too, but in EVs voice it's emotional chaos for me... HATE THE FEELING! :P

Tis a fantastic cover. I don't think the version on The Downward Spiral is Trent's best, but some of the live versions are incredible, this version in particular is utterly amazing:

As for me, I'd probably have to go with Juliana Hatfield's Make It Home

The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face-Johnny Cash, from the same album as Hurt
How To Disappear Completely, Wolf At The Door-Radiohead

I don't really know what any of these songs are about, but there's certain musical moments that are just so deep and soulful...I can't really explain it, it's almost more of a physical reaction than an emotional one.

I agree, a lot of the time it's not even about the words in the song, it's more the general emotion that it carries. Another one for me would be Thirty Three by the Smashing Pumpkins, I know I've gotten teary eyed to that song more than once

thirty three is so so beautiful.

I had a bit of "lose it" moment today when I first heard daughter/it's ok from that toronto show....that just hit. not even actual sadness, but just so much emotionality.

say hello to heaven by temple of the dog is another one that always gets me.
same goes for I am the highway by audioslave when chris sings it solo.
