That's pretty much how I feel about FDR and Lincoln.
  • I was very sad when he died.

I wanted him to suffer a LOT longer for being such a pig.

The way he gleefully basked in the AIDS crisis and went out of his way to do nothing. The way he lied and cheated and sent many men into harm's way because of his addiction to war.

His love of making rich richer and poor poorer.

And of course... running up the national debt to pay for his countless wars, his taking advice he knew was bad because it told him what he wanted to hear...

I'm just glad that we all know all he did. And that his own kids acknowledge he was a rotten person down to his rotten, rotten soul.

The simple answer is that he was not. Flew out of National airport yesterday and the statue in front of Terminal A is laughable. The deification of Ronald Reagan is perfectly in keeping with the continued derangement of the modern Republican party.

I just don't think a President is anything more than a figurehead
but people here still believe otherwise I guess.
I'm with the few posters here and those in general that say The President is not the power
it is the money, the wealth that is power of the world.

So as a figurehead I thought he was cool at the time. Probably the last President I really liked
of what I perceived. I liked Bush but pictured him fun to party with. Thought Clinton was a
horrible player, untrustworthy more so than usual

Current President is just scary, so I guess the powers got something planned I may not like
and I know is not in my best interest. I'm leaving here in 20 or less though
    but what about the children?

Yes, he ate pectin jelly beans... originally, pectin was used to make jelly beans and then corn starch was used because it's cheaper.
