I'm sorry to say to all who purchased from him that he is selling a fake record. So I just want to warn all other buyers of this record. I'm a long time collector and one of the guys from http://www.pjcollectors.com and I have compared my official copy with the fake copy. The imprint on the inner ring of the LP (you can see it if you hold the LP into the light) is completely missing. The color of the orange basketball is little different. The printing of the text bad if you compare it to the original.
I'm frustrated myself as I wanted to give these copies to friends. I have asked the seller for a refund but got no answer so far. If he doesn't answer in some days I will contact ebay and Paypal. Gladly I have paid with Paypal.
Sorry for this bad news but I think you all should know this. Sorry for my bad English but I'm from Germany.

wow this is really a bummer...i was pretty stoked on this.
if you get in contact with the seller please post what he says. hes obviously going to be getting a letter from everyone that reads this that bought the record.
i paid paypal as well. guess i start a claim saying that i didint get the item that was described in the auction.
im curious to know what it sounds like....this may be as close as i ever get to owning the real one...
are you really really sure that it is fake...really really surre?...thing is that id never be able to tell...
(youre english was fine, better than some americans here...)
Good luck to you both and to anyone else scammed by this guy.
so far the seller has sold 15 of them at $60 each...he has two more at auction right now. hes going to have a hard time ahead if he sold 15 fake copies of a record....
if i hadnt read (or started) this thread i would have never known that the record i bought was a fake....
i mean, is this the right number for the original disc? "EPIC RECORDS 1992 -CATALOGUE Nº 468884 0" is this what's printed on the disc you got that you say is fake?
The printing of the record is totally the same but you can see differences in color and sharpness of the printing if you compare it to the original copy. Also the imprint on the inner ring of the LP is missing. There should be written "468-884-0+A'" and "ORLAKE" on side A and "468-884-0+B" on side B. If you can see this on copy you have the real one.
I'm 100% sure that it is a fake. And how should this guy have 15 original Ten picture discs?
I haven't received an answer from him so I will wait until Monday or Tuesday. Then I contact Paypal.

I would not give him more than a day. The more time he has to pull the $$ out the harder it will be to win without a chargeback...
Wow, that sucks. Now I am thankful that I didn't buy one (i came so close!). Hopefully everyone gets their money back.

I just checked mine that I have had for a while and I have an authentic one with the proper number on the inner ring. Quick question: $60 was remarkably low because it seemed too good to be true and it turned out to be a fake. What would an original one go for? I bought mine in 06 for $140 and thought it was a good deal. Any info?

I've always thought anyting under $150 was good... I've seen as high as $200+ and as low as $120ish...
ok, i got my supposedly fake basketball lp today. im still confused. the lp i got looks real...and it has the catalog number on the inner ring...right above the "I" in "official"...in fact it goes through the "I" its very small and hard to see...you have to hold it just right in the light to see.
now, is this the imprint you are talking about soldier? have you had any luck with the seller yet? id like to know what he said when you asked for your money back?
im still not convinced its a fake...i need some other proof...does some one on here have both? i mean, can some one hold one in one hand and the other in the other hand? how else can we tell its fake?

Actually, I can already see a difference. The copy this guy is selling on Ebay, the words "PEARL JAM" on the outside front plastic sleeve are in black. In the photos of a legit copy on pjcollectors.com, that text is purple.
Fake copy, get a refund. If he didn't send it with tracking, you can just say that you didn't receive it and he'll have no way to prove otherwise. PayPal requires TRACKABLE shipping when shipping internationally. So just say you didn't get it and they'll decide in your favor when reviewing the case. I know this because I have been BURNED in the past.

i wish it was that easy. the writing on the sleeve of the lp i got for $60 is purple. i cant see any difference between the one i got for $60 and the one on PJCOLLECTORS.com (which, i was well aware of)
my copy has "468 8840-A" on side 1 and "468 8840-B" on side two along the inner ring. i cant see "olake" though...
i need someone that acutally possess both copies....not some guesses from pictures...

i'm not trying to cause an argument. i just don't know why you don't believe the guy above who stated clearly, "I have compared my official copy with the fake copy."
It sure sounds to me like he has both copies in his possession and is staring at both of them to make his comparison, which is exactly what you are asking for. Who knows though, maybe you got a real copy and he got a fake?

the inner ring imprint that he is refering to is very hard to see. its tiny, and you can only see it if you hold the lp just right.
pjcollectors.com does not provide pictures of this imprint on their website. and as far as i can tell my copy matchs theirs exactly...

So it takes a while. DO IT NOW!!!!

this sucks....so the catalog number that is listed in the auction is supposed to be imprinted on the inner ring?
how does it sound?
The catalog number is printed on the upper right corner on the backside and on the record on the bottom:
