    Been slow year for shows...

Anyways, Foo Fighters in St. Paul this Thursday. Forgot I had a ticket to this until yesterday when my buddy called asking where we were meeting for beers. Guess that happens when you buy tickets almost a year in advance.

Brandi Carlile on 11/29 and 11/30 in Minneapolis.

Dont see much after that until after the new year.

    Caspian.

    Minus The Bear.

My husband and I went to the Minus The Bear Farewell Tour in Cleveland last night. Caspian opened and they were wonderful. I admit while they are very good, I could never see them able to hold down the headliner spot. Their music has no lyrics and after a time of the music turned up to distortion level, their songs started to sound the same. M agreed. Thankful that MTB had their own sound guy who fixed that problem by the time they took the stage.

MTB?  So good!  Security showed me their spec list for the night and MTB was to play until 11. They played until almost 11:15, so we got two hours. Barely any talking. An extremely short encore break. Rolled one song to the other. My death metal loving husband was very impressed. He was there for Caspian, but left with a major appreciation for MTB.

The Farewell Tour is going out on a high note. I've only seen them a couple of times, but I'm glad that I have been able to do so. Good stuff right there!

And I love the poster.

At long last, going to see Henry Rollins this Friday at the Crest in Sacramento.  Seeing as his writings turned me on to these guys, I've to to wear one of My Dinosaur Jr t-shirts Friday night.

  • Just got tickets to see the OCS.  That is the alter ego Thee Oh Sees band with Dwyer and Bridgid and a 7 piece band.  Not sure if they are playing Memory of a Cut Off Head in full  but anything Dwyer does will be good.

    Anybody else seeing them?

I've seen Dylan more than any other band or artist. It used to be similar to a PJ show in that the set list was different each time and he would deviate from studio versions of songs a lot.

Now, it's pretty much the same set list and the same version of each song.

Still worth going, IMO. The musicians in his band are top shelf.

right on,  man. what they lost in spontaneity they make up for in precision. maybe he will mix up a couple tunes a week apart.....

interested to see the band without Stu Kimball on rhythm guitar. I hear it is a bit more stripped down now.

    That's what I heard too.

Always a treat to see Tony Garnier, though. He is the true definition of a professional bass player.
