Hoping to have some extra money next month so I can see O.A.R. in Atlantic City.
Wanted to see Phish on New Year's Eve at The Garden, never seen them, but that doesn't seem to be in the cards - my son just had 2 long overdue wisdom teeth removed - no insurance - 1500.00, I think the oral surgeon said he needed the ones on the other side out but my son was too stoned and I was in shock.
Friday! Kind of a challenging week at work, so I can definitely use a nice show. This one is a show that my husband is excited to attend, because he is jazzed for the opening band. Whatever gets us there.
Just bought them today. My Birthday is in November and my wife's is in February so I'm justifying the purchases as early birthday presents! Marcus King Band - Jefferson Theater in Charlottesville November 12 Tedeschi Trucks Band - Warner Theater D.C. February 16

It’s hockey season for my daughter, so I’m probably done with shows until May 2019.
Neko Case, Jan. 24, 2019. It's a Thursday. So far, that's the only day with no hockey. Woot!
Add Elton John on Nov. 15. Woot!
I hope he plays the song from Lion King for ya
Doesn't look like it. Maybe Neko will cover it.
Other than three eighties songs that I could do without ("I Guess That's Why They Call It the Blues," "Sad Songs (Say So Much)" and "I'm Still Standing"), the setlist looks pretty great. Only one song from Honky Château ("Rocket Man (I Think It's Going to Be a Long, Long Time)") is kind of a bummer, too. That is just a stellar album, and it deserves way more love on a farewell tour..
I found something to do for the seven shitty GNR songs ("Chinese Democracy," "Estranged," "This I Love," "Sorry," "Coma," "Better" and "November Rain") during their cashgrab, so I'm sure I'll be good for the eighties' Elton clunkers.

My husband and I went to the Minus The Bear Farewell Tour in Cleveland last night. Caspian opened and they were wonderful. I admit while they are very good, I could never see them able to hold down the headliner spot. Their music has no lyrics and after a time of the music turned up to distortion level, their songs started to sound the same. M agreed. Thankful that MTB had their own sound guy who fixed that problem by the time they took the stage.
MTB? So good! Security showed me their spec list for the night and MTB was to play until 11. They played until almost 11:15, so we got two hours. Barely any talking. An extremely short encore break. Rolled one song to the other. My death metal loving husband was very impressed. He was there for Caspian, but left with a major appreciation for MTB.
The Farewell Tour is going out on a high note. I've only seen them a couple of times, but I'm glad that I have been able to do so. Good stuff right there!
I got 2 GA.tix for O.A.R. at Hard Rock in Atlantic City on December 8. Bringing my son and mom (just son to concert) and making a weekend of it. First concert since Wrigley N2 PJ. 2016.

At long last, going to see Henry Rollins this Friday at the Crest in Sacramento. Seeing as his writings turned me on to these guys, I've to to wear one of My Dinosaur Jr t-shirts Friday night.
“The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man [or woman] who lives fully is prepared to die at any time.”
Just got tickets to see the OCS. That is the alter ego Thee Oh Sees band with Dwyer and Bridgid and a 7 piece band. Not sure if they are playing Memory of a Cut Off Head in full but anything Dwyer does will be good.

got tix for Dylan Nov 2nd and 8th. Xmas Jam on December 8th.
American Aquarium on November 26th. trying to end the year on a blast.
2 nights of Dylan? Man you must love the abuse...
probably the same setlist too. it is an acquired taste, my friend
seeing him as much as possible before it's not possible anymore.
I've seen Dylan more than any other band or artist. It used to be similar to a PJ show in that the set list was different each time and he would deviate from studio versions of songs a lot.
Now, it's pretty much the same set list and the same version of each song.
Still worth going, IMO. The musicians in his band are top shelf.

right on, man. what they lost in spontaneity they make up for in precision. maybe he will mix up a couple tunes a week apart.....
interested to see the band without Stu Kimball on rhythm guitar. I hear it is a bit more stripped down now.

That's what I heard too.
Always a treat to see Tony Garnier, though. He is the true definition of a professional bass player.

interested to see the band without Stu Kimball on rhythm guitar. I hear it is a bit more stripped down now.

Always a treat to see Tony Garnier, though. He is the true definition of a professional bass player.
