    There's an Athletic article about the Johnsonville Jets, who inspired Slap Shot. The Hanson brothers were a real thing and were played by themselves in the movie (2 of them at least). Unreal.

    I got to meet one of them while coaching hockey in Pittsburgh, a top hockey highlight of life for sure.

    Speaking of Pittsburgh hockey, Jagr's ceremony last was great.  The Pens' performance: less so.

    I don't know WTF happened there.  I watched the first period and Vassy was just off.  We were hot coming in but they have been on a tear.  I think the Panthers are really dangerous.  Either way, it's one game.  Just keep it going tonight against the Sens.

    I loathed Jagr and his hair back in the 90s and early 00s.  Couldnt stand him, and was never a Lemieux fan.  Warmed up to him as he went on, and I am a fan now.  It is great he still plays professionally and he looks great.

    It is awesome that he got to skate for warmups and skate on the ice for his jersey retirement.  Rarely/never get to see that.

    the team will be the same but they’ve taken 29,000 requests for season tickets and the Delta Center was full just for some “meet the team” thing. there are some lame names being considered.
