Yep, it wasn’t pretty, but they managed to pull out the win. Really hoping that the week off will let some of the injuries to heal.  Gonna be a brutal amount of travel for the two teams though, over 4000 KM between the two cities.

    McDavid is ridiculous.   So good.
Go Canada - break the streak so I can properly hate on the Oil and Canucks next year.

I wonder when the last time the rooting interests appeared this lopsided was?
(And, if what appears to be the sentiment here (huge majority rooting for Oil so Canada can be winners again in NHL)

Maybe since everyone was sick of the Red Wings?

I think Florida is the deeper, more aggressive, end to end better team.  They are just so relentless and create so many high quality, scoring chances.  However, the Oilers really seem to have made a commitment to defense in the last few series, so this gives them a puncher's chance.

End of the day, I think Florida wins in five, but I am hoping I'm wrong.

The collection of talent of the top 6 (including McJesus) is really impressive.  Skinner will need to play out of his mind and who knows how Nurse will play.  The Blue line play will determine the series, in my opinion.  I think we know what we will get from Florida because they played with such consistency all season and in the playoffs.

McDavid's goal last night was just sick.

5 straight years a team from Florida has made the Cup final.  Guess expansion to the south worked well.

And this has to be the largest distance to travel by two Cup teams ever right?

Hope Edmonton can pull it out but feeling Florida wins this one in 5 or 6.  Florida has been so good defensively and has been the best team throughout this playoffs.

I have to say I'm angrier about losing to the 1996 Florida Panthers than losing the 1985 & 1987 Stanley Cup Finals to the greatest dynasty in modern sports. The Panthers were a mediocre team constantly committing uncalled penalties with Florida men & women throwing 10,000 plastic rats on the ice very time they scored (seriously, no penalty for that either?).

Canada's Stanley Cup drought is just unthinkable.

Yes that was a horrible series loss by the Flyers.  Put that in the #SadPhilly thread (although that thread is going to hurt with all your examples)
