Yzerman has a heavy lift with Detroit, much moreso than Tampa Bay. In Tampa, he had Stamkos and Hedman already in there... plus the advantages of being a high quality, warm destination and a favorable tax situation.
He did make some pretty shrewd moves out of the gate there and made a number of quality decisions that proved to be correct. Also, was able to draft some gems outside the 1st round.

Calgary you suck. You looked pathetic after game 1.
Winnipeg will soon exit...maybe?
Nice Victory by the leafs.
As for Yzerman going home. The Wings have some good young talent on the roster, plus a top 6 pick and 15-20 million to spend this off-season...so he has some options...

Granted I've not heard the victory song for every team on every sport on the face of the earth ... But the St. Louis Blues playing "Gloria!" has to be a top 5, maybe top 3 contender for the worst. That song was bad when it came out and it is 100x worse today. They need to find the staffer that pulled that song out of the garbage can and stuff him in the stinkiest locker they can find.

A pox upon the Blues ...
hearing that song as they celebrated beating my home team actually made the loss sting less. i started to laugh.

It's funny but the players actually started that tradition in the locker room, and they asked for the arena to play it.
Blue also play Country Road by John Denver sometime in the game too. That's very confusing considering they are the "Blues".
Canadian hockey teams suck...I expect Toronto to lose Tuesday as well...
Winnipeg needs a coach who can get them over the top. Well, Calgary is Calgary...
And Toronto will probably do what Toronto does best...choke
i still think Toronto wins tomorrow but you have to finish them off in game 6 at home there (or it could just be my dislike of Boston). bad loss.
with Tampa shitting the bed like they did this is really a wide open race for the Cup. I can see almost any of these teams winning it.
Yup. Couldn't agree more. They needed to finish them off in game 6. Is Boston going to lose a 3rd home game in this series? Toronto is pushing its luck...

haha, atlanta had a losing record the last 5 seasons before they relocated to winnipeg. maurice got them to the final 4 in his 4th season of coaching them. hahahahahaha

So. What the fuck does Atlanta got to do with anything? Toronto was a mess 5 years ago as well. Winnipeg will not go far with Mr. Monotone behind the bench. You must be one of the few who even remembers the final four in hockey, after all, all that matters is who is wins The Cup. Thye limped dick performance from Winnipeg and Calgary is whats laughable. LMFAO.
I’m thinking brett burns is probably a meth cook in the offseason?
The idea that he is up for Norris kind of is bullshit. The award is not the best offensive D-man, it is the best D-man.
Burns is laughable when it comes to that title. NFW.
Giordano get my vote.
Fuck the Sharks. Good for them that they get to lose in Game 7 now and have it hurt more.

And regarding Yzerman: pretty exciting, can't wait to see what kind of team he assembles.

Such a brutal goal for Fleury to give up in double OT last night. Sharks were shorthanded and should have been an easy save.
